I think rather than trying to fighting over details or answer but every other country has universal health care a need tactic is talking about WHY that is
During World War 2 there was a shortage of skilled labor in the US since much of the working age male population was at war

competition for the labor pool was fierce and wages grew

FDR put in an executive order to limit wages

nytimes.com/2017/09/05/ups…
Businesses responded by offering benefit packages to comply with the wage limit but also sweeten the deal

One of those packages was health insurance
after the war that system and the system of benefit packages as part of compensation stayed

meanwhile in Europe and Japan the US military administrations went about building out universal healthcare in Germany and Japan
In 1945 Truman tried to get universal health care passed but the Unions had fought so hard for their benefits packages they didn't want to lose it

I think the argument our current system is a fucked up quark from WWII government wage limits and should be fixed is a pretty..
good one

people will worry that once companies no longer have to pay for their health care will they increase their compensation in some other way? well without being locked in by health care more people will have job mobility and more job mobility will lead to better wages
companies can still offer private insurance options on top of public or other health benefits but will have to compete with the public option similar to England's system
