🤩I am constantly marveled by the endless ways in which we #Pathology and #LabMedicine, can use Twitter to engage, share, support & learn from each other. Here is the link to my presentation that celebrates the unlimited opportunities to harness Twitter👉🏽

Like the #SolarEclipse that occurred in August 2017, to me, Twitter has been a community wide experience of marveling a visual process that can create a burst of awe at an organic velocity. It's really exciting to be engaged in this global experience. Image
#AcademicTwitter is using Twitter at the University and Research setting to teach. It has wide range benefits and I recommend reading the following article written by @soragnilab and @Aiims1742 published in @nature that describes this phenomenon. doi.org/10.1038/s41568… ImageImage
I never used Twitter, or any social media (really) until December 2017. Twitter was encouraged at @AABB annual meeting & I was curious, so I started an account. It was right around the time I was studying for my #PathBoards. 🤯I was blown away by the content, and become 🎣hooked Image
I was marveled by the incredible cases that #pathologists were sharing: #Dermpath, #IDPath, #ForensicPath, #GIPath, #NeuroPath, #Cytopath, #YouNameItPath. It was like a playground for pathologists. Also, I was warmly welcomed by all. In fact, @JMGardnerMD provided guidelines. Image
It took me 6 months to feel comfortable using Twitter. Finally, I posted my first case describing blood bank findings in a pediatric patient w/ a brown recluse spider bite. ☺️ I was so proud, it was nominated for a #PathTweetAward. From there, my #Blooducation tweeting started. Image
Shortly after, @smlungpathguy posted his first Tweetorial & I was really, really impressed. He taught me how to do it & supported me along the way #heforshe. After that, #Blooducation Tweetorials became my go-to educational tool to explain complicated #TransfusionMedicine topics Image
I have also been privileged to partake in a Twitter initiative called #Path2Path, which brings together a forum of INCREDIBLE pathologists to provide advice, support & mentorship to med students interested in pursuing a career in pathology. 🗣️We chat about it. Image
Research collaboration also exists on #PathTwitter. Can you believe that #EBUSTwitter was able to generate a MultiCenter International Pathology Study that published it's findings?!! 😎That is off the charts cool. @marcoslepe @pembeoltulu Image
One of the most unique qualities of Twitter within pathology is the Global #PathTwitterFamily. The pillars of our community embraced all #pathologists and facilitated a #GrowthMindset. 🤔The goal is not to get the right answer, but to nurture participation. #GreatIdea Image
The use of #SocialMedia applications in Academic Medicine is advancing at lightening speed. I think it is our job as faculty to provide guidelines including professionalism applications to use this incredible tool as it becomes well established within the #MedEd curriculum. Image
Special thank you to @jeffjag who allowed me to use his GORGEOUS artwork to beautify my power point presentation and #Tweetorial. I think his watercolor and digital illustrations embody the incredible energy that we harness on #PathTwitter: bursts of organic and digital light. Image
