This is unspeakable. The Home Office is out of control.
If there is a problem with the passport, they should present him with the evidence and provide a decent time period for him to make representations in the UK.
Unilaterally revoking it and leaving him stranded in a foreign country is unjust and unconscionable.
As ever, it's not just about the decisions the department makes, it's about how it makes them. If the Home Office was a person, it'd be a sociopath.
