1. This is a short thread that will try to look at AirPods and electronic devices in the context of Toronto’s pedestrian fatalities.

Let’s look at the numbers we have available.
2. To begin, 351 pedestrians were fatally injured in collisions with cars, trucks, and transit vehicles from 2008 to 2018. All numbers are from the TPS Killed or Seriously Injured (KSI) statistics.
3. The KSI dataset includes an attribute ‘PEDCOND’ (pedestrian condition), one descriptor of which is ‘inattentive’. Presumably, distraction owing to AirPods/devices would be some subset of this category.

1. Welcome to Toronto, where apparently you should now wave a flag if you hope to cross the street safely.

At a signalized intersection.

By a school.
2. For context, this if the intersection where these flags have popped up.

The problem here is not pedestrian visibility. It is drivers who race through yellows and run red lights to make it down the road to the next red light 30 seconds sooner.

3. So why does this make me angry?

Because why should a pedestrian, at a signalized intersection, need to hold a flag to ‘take back the road’ when traffic is facing a red light and THEY HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY.

#Khashoggi Case Thread: I am going to ‘pin’ this post to use it as an ‘Info Thread’ on the #Khashoggi Case. I am in #Turkey. I’ve been following the case closely and with access to sources & experts here. This is a very ‘sensitive’ criminal case due to ‘Diplomatic Booby Traps’!!!
The Evidence Obtained Outside Cameras will not show any evidence of ‘tempering’ but other than license plates of dozens of diplomatic cars (Many with tinted windows-large trunks) with related time stamp, drivers Info, model/year: Nothing.
#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.

In this thread I will be gradually reviewing these flavoured coffees I just found in lidl (which i suspect are basically fart powder), and then comparing each to one of the 12 labours of Hercules.
Going by the same logic that dictates you should immediately punch the hardest man in prison, I started with this disaster. Would've been ace if it wasn't a mix of mint choc flavour & shit instant coffee, but it was that, so it was shite. Like pine needles in ashtray water. 2/10

Much like Herc, I overcame my 1st labour with a mix of tenacity & gargantuan strength. Unlike the big man himself, I won't wear the skin of this enemy, but I hope an early exposure to something so rancid will armour me against the rest of my foes.
