This title quickly grew on me. The word “dominion” perfectly sums up the story arc of the entire franchise.

Before the original park fell, Dr. Ian Malcolm warned John Hammond, “Genetic power is the most awesome force the planet’s ever seen, but you wield it like a kid that’s found his dad’s gun.”

The humans at InGen are depicted as having hubris, thinking they are in charge w/ everything under control. When the original park turned to chaos, Dr. Ellie Sattler pointed out to Hammond, “You never had control. That’s the illusion!”

Symbolism is packed throughout the original movie to foreshadow to the viewers that mankind isn’t in control:

1) Dr. Alan Grant having to make do w/ 2 female seatbelt connectors in the helicopter
2) Hammond’s daughter going through a divorce
etc.

The premise of the Jurassic series has always been about the dangers of humans playing God. During the original tour, Malcolm said in the car:

God creates dinosaurs.
God destroys dinosaurs.
God creates man.
Man destroys God.
Man creates dinosaurs.

Each time the story progresses, the people at InGen (& later Masrani Global) try to reassert control, & they always fail to account for some aspect of the situation w/ disasterous results.

Now that the dinosaurs have been released into the world & even more companies wielding the genetic power, who actually will have the dominion in the end: mankind or the dinosaurs? It should make for an interesting conclusion.
