1932 - US map of China, note how small China was actually before it started forcibly occupying/swallowing other nations

Sumul Sinha,Mandarin speaking diplomat (he was an IFS officer),had warned Nehru about the Chinese plans to takeover Tibet, but was royally
snubbed (second from left in the photo).

“Had Nehru followed the advice of Sumul Sinha, the Indian official who had warned him about the intentions of communist China, the destiny of the nation could have been different

One does not often pay homage to
unknown diplomats: Had their advice been followed, the destiny of the nation could, perhaps, have been different. This is the case of Sumul Sinha, the official in-charge of the Indian Mission in lhasa between 1950 & 1952

Five months after forcing a 17-Point

The image of this article illustrates something I've been thinking about a lot these past few days.

The way history panned out, American symbolism became strongly tied to the right-wing. (1/18)

It's often associated with the subset of right-wingers that exhibit xenophobic/racist/homophobic/ethnocentric/extremely self-oriented/etc. values and behaviors, and somehow this orientation away from difference and the other seems to be commonly considered patriotic. (2/18)
When you look deeper into American symbolism, there are aspects that are definitely in line with that. The Pledge of Allegiance was written by someone who expressed racist, white supremacist opinions. (3/18)

Some artists leave us too young. But they leave behind a wonderful collection of work and a wistful sense of what could have been.

One such artist is Virginia Frances Sterrett (1900-1931). This is her story... #WednesdayThoughts
Virginia Frances Sterrett was born in Chicago in 1900. From an early age she preferred to draw rather than play with other children.
After Sterrett's father died she began to study at the Art Institute of Chicago. Sadly she left in 1916 after her mother became ill.

And speaking of hate mail, would you all mind helping me out by reporting the latest Amazon "review" of Empty the Pews for abuse?

The "reviewer" (and I use the term loosely) obviously didn't read the book. He just wanted to use the review platform to preach a hate-filled sermon
It's honestly funny to me; there's like one parenthetical mention of being transgender in my entire essay, which is about how short-term mission trips to Russia contributing to my loss of faith, because missionaries are ridiculous.

Here's the Amazon link…
Also, if you have read the book and could leave your own honest review, that would be great! Thanks!

In the early 1950s a new fashion trend took over Britain's youth. An adaptation of Edwardian romanticism; drape jackets, tailored waistcoats, drainpipe trousers and chunky shoes. It soon gained a name: the Teddy Boy!

Let’s take a look at it... #WednesdayThoughts
The Edwardian suit was introduced in 1950 by Savile Row tailors looking for a ‘new style' for young men. Taking inspiration from the Edwardian dandy the new look created a narrow silhouette offset with a fancy waistcoat. Young military officers were early aficionados.
Soon however the new style was being copied by Britain’s working class youth, as a revolt against the drab conformity of the post-war years.

Looking like your grandad was suddenly ‘in’!

"Voting is reserved, except for Rebellion or other crimes" via Section 2, of the never ratified 14th Amendment.

Do you claim citizenship to the corporation known as the United States of America?

Do you vote for governance?
If you can answer yes to both those questions, then YOU are the Belligerent enemy combatant they speak of.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Organization and other radical missionary outfits are #CapitalizingOnCovid, deliberately and explicitly playing on people's fears of the pandemic to gin up conversions.

This is predatory. And it's being celebrated in @CTmagazine

That's right, these predatory behaviors are treated as beneficent and heroic in *the same* Christianity Today you all thought was so wonderful because it published Mark Galli's op-ed making a conservative Christian case that Trump should be removed from office.
I can't believe it still needs to be said, but there is no such thing as "kinder, gentler" culture wars. And there is no proselytizing without objectification. Evangelicalism is anti-pluralist. Even the "moderate" kind…

7 Hour Assault!
100 Soldiers lost!!
Pride of the Chadian Military dented!!!

That's all it took for the Chadian President, Idris Dēby to announce the Wrath of Boma operation & personally take the fight to the doorstep of Boko Haram…
A few days after the counter attack led by President Idris Dēby that saw the capture of the arms store of Boko Haram & fleeing of the insurgents, their leader, Ibrahim Shekau in a viral video, has gone spiritual & is begging to be left alone

Is this the same Shekau terrorizing the @NigeriaGov , @HQNigerianArmy & the same group that ambuished & killed at least 50 Nigerian soldiers in March?…
Why then has Boko Haram continued to prey on the Nigerian military & citizens unhindered?

Recent news reminded me of a woman who led a high-visibility, trusted role in Naval leadership.

Folks, how much longer are you willing to be a prisoner in your own home?

Are you waiting for someone to save you?

From my understanding how law works, the current system needs our consent to operate. We give "it" power not the other way around.
The usurpers occupying our state houses, the state supreme courts along with these unlawful municipal courts will continue to violate our state constitutions & the U.S. Constitution because we are ignorant of our own constitutional laws(state).
You think not having enough toilet paper is bad...THEY will continue to create more restrictions until we can't even go to the store to feed our families and at the same time our farmers are suffering!

You think the National Guard is on our side?

If anyone is #workfromhome due to the so-called corona virus. Folks, I urge you to get out of your homes. If you have no access to a public parks then take a walk around the block and if you live in a warm environment then go to a beach, go biking. Go out and spend time...
...with your family and friends, it doesn't have to be in a venue.

If you continue to stay home in fear you are doing exactly what THEY want. The nature of a Totalitarian system is to create TERROR! F*ck the curfew, you are adults, then act like it!
I live my life how want to and I will not give into fear! Those of you have been following me for over a month should know what we're up against.

People make me angry when they say that only girls need #PersonalSafety sessions, boys just need to learn to respect girls. Here's my question to you, do you think boys aren't abused or don't deserve safe childhood? Read the petition & you would know
Our sessions for sex education &/ personal safety #Training need to be gender neutral, boys go through sexual abuse and are silenced. They don't have a language just as girls don't. They need empowerment just as much & even more.
Now the concept of boys learning to respect girls/women, all humans need to learn to respect each other and the environment. Now this knowledge should not be gender biased. If we put girls & boys in diff rooms & teach them separately that's not gonna solve anything.

Before the imperialists interrupted traditional systems of govt, Kings reigned supreme & were next only to God.

Interruptions were not only done by imperialists, kingdoms invaded & dominated other kingdoms leading to wars, displacements, slavery
For Nigeria, the British Indirect Rule preserved traditional institutions but watered down their powers extensively, making them 'figure heads'.

The current reality is that an Oba, Kabiyesi, Obong, Sultan, Olu or Emir is entitled to ONE VOTE
What then is responsible for the reactions to the removal of Emir Sanusi II?
His personality?
Our emotional attachments to traditional institutions?
Our true desire for right over wrong?
The perception of corruption on the Chief Antagonist, 'Dollar-Man'?

"You cannot give self-government to anybody. He has got to earn it for himself. You can give him the chance to obtain self-government, but he himself out of his own heart must do the governing. He must govern himself.
That is what self-government means. . . . There must be control. There must be mastery, somewhere, and if there is no self- control and self-mastery, the control and the mastery will ultimately be imposed from without."

Posting this again bc the answer is still unclear. On Ingraham tonight @sendavidperdue said witnesses mean Senate shutdown.
Can they go into recess while adjudicating in court with a simple majority vote? Does it mean a rule change to do so? How many votes needed for that?
In the Clinton impeachment they made a deal for 3 witnesses and recessed while they were deposed.

In this case who deposes witnesses? The Senators? House Managers? Defense team? All of the above?
At this time Schuner is saying no deals on witnesses. They want to force individual votes on each and every one to draw out the process according to @SenatorLankford and @MarshaBlackburn
Also individual votes for each of the docs they want.

VERY interesting posit here: "consider the case of Donald Trump. Can any Senator honestly say, while under an Oath to render impartial justice, that he or she would vote to acquit a President of the opposing Party if it were proven that the President used security assistance as
2-" leverage to extort a phony political investigation from a foreign nation? We find that utterly implausible. This is a classic abuse of public authority for private gain – in this case, political rather than financial.
3-"Any Republican Senator who would vote to remove a Democratic President for such misconduct must, by their Oath, vote to remove Trump..if Senators reflect on the seriousness and the content of the Oath to do impartial justice under the Constitution, they may prove the cynics
