Of all the things a President could say to reassure a nation facing an epidemic, "Healthy people will go through a process and probably be fine" would probably be super low down my list.
"I really would wish that we really could report exactly what's happened, and how well we're doing under quite adverse circumstances" is even lower down that list.
Also not reassuring: repeatedly suggesting that this is not a big deal because only people who aren't older and don't have any health issues are very likely to have a bad outcome.
Strong contender here for worst Presidential statement about an epidemic: "We should have negative interest rates."
Yikes. New winner for least reassuring statement: identifying the first victim of the epidemic in the U.S. as a woman when it was a man. A reminder that what the WH says can't be relied upon, even when they're not trying to lie.
