It has nothing to do with who I LIKE better. Today's results will be OK for Sanders, bec of early ballots. But Klobuchar/Buttigieg dropping out consolidates the centrist vote behind one candidate. Sanders CAN'T win a clear majority. At best, he can stop Biden from winning one.

And if no one has a clear majority in convention Round One, it becomes a contested convention in which superdelegates (nearly all Democratic Party mainstreamers) can vote. And in Round Two, those folks will not side with Sanders. They won't do it.

So the nominee WILL be Biden, and progressives will be out in the cold again, unless they can unify behind a progressive who is NOT Sanders.

But the superdelegates also know that if Biden gets the nom, many progressives will sit out the general election, possibly throwing it to Trump. So they might be VERY interested in accepting a compromise like Warren, who is acceptable to mainline Democrats AND progressives.

In short: A VOTE FOR WARREN IS NOT WASTED! Sanders CAN'T win this now. He can't win a clear majority, and the supers will not back him at the convention if he doesn't. The best Sanders can do is prevent Biden from getting a majority -- but a vote for a Warren does that, too.

Warren is the only remaining progressive who can get the nom. She has a good convention argument. What she needs now is enough votes to be viable through the Convention. A vote for Warren today doesn't hurt Bernie, it only preserves a non-Biden progressive option.
