‘Super Spreading Tuesday’? 🤒 Crazy idea— but I pray we don’t someday look back at Super Tuesday voting in 14 states + millions of voters as actually an epidemic super-spreading day at polling stations... it just takes one asymptomatic poll worker to you know😷... #COVID19

3) Not just a sick poll worker- but many polling stations have shared pens/markers inside polling booths, or touch screen voting screens. Disinfected after each voter? Doubtful. That’s why I’m very worried about implications for Nov elections if epidemic doesn’t end. #COVID19

THIS. IS. ABSOLUTELY. LUDICROUS. How does a top official (the ASH is ranked ~3 at HHS) have the gall to say best estimate of CFR is 0.1-1%??? WHO even said it’s 3.4% this week, others say 1-2.5%. S.Korea is ~0.6% but cases very new- #COVID19 has up to 6 weeks horizon from onset.
2) here is the CFR graph from past WHO report. Also, others agree the ASH’s statement above is bonkers. #COVID19.
3) A reason you can’t rely on a back-of-napkin calculation of S Korea or any new epidemic area is because the cases are relatively new, and haven’t had full amount of time to resolve to either dead or recovered in each cohort. Unresolved cases means CFR not reliable yet. #COVID19

Shots fired- WHO Dr Tedros calls out leadership in certain countries of not seriously taking #COVID19 threat. Gee, wonder who he means? Maybe a president who just told people it’s okay to goto work with the #coronavirus yesterday on national TV? (Not partisan- just public health)
2) Here is actual video. Trump first said “corona flu” is not a big deal; it’s so mild that people don’t even goto doctor, people get better sitting around or even goto work- “they get better”➡️he’s implying it’s so mild it’s okay to do nothing. That’s dangerous message. #COVID19

NEED TO STOP Seattle➡️Wuhan 2.0: Washington state is at the cusp of a great unchecked outbreak. I once had raised a big ⚠️warning in late January about Wuhan. I’m nearing a high level of concern again - Seattle area is now teetering toward a really dangerous epidemic. #COVID19
2) What could WA officials do? Besides the standard “wash your hands” PSA messages, WA needs to do more to avoid a Wuhan 2.0 epidemic. Not sure if America is ready for a lockdown, but it needs to be part of the conversation. State wide school closures also an option. #COVID19
3) Need to also consider temporary moratorium on all public gatherings+mass events potentially. We need to consider state-funded/mandated free testing for all like NY, more field clinics, and maybe quarantine facilities (more than a mere motel). Free testing+care is key #COVID19.

My hot take of the day is that 2018-19 were #actually banner years for trade economists. Nobody bats 1.000, but on tariffs, trade balances, diversion vs reshoring, uncertainty, manufacturing, currency, etc, the economists* were generally right. /1

*real ones, not pundits
Whether this matters for US politics is entirely a different matter, but the folks who *actually study this stuff for a living* have a LOT to look back on over the last 2 yrs and say (politely) "just as predicted" (aka "told ya so")
Eg:
✅Tariff incidence & downstream effects
✅Retaliation & exclusions
✅Tariffs & currency (USD/RMB/etc)
✅Trade uncertainty's US/global effects
✅Bilateral disputes' regional impact
✅Supply chains, reshoring, trade diversion
✅Trade balances & tariffs/taxes/mfg output
✅Steel

If the Trump/Russia conspiracy is ‘legally’ proven & 2016 election proven rigged?

@HillaryClinton should immediately be offered the Presidency.

after Trump is removed & imprisoned every action by Trump as POTUS & ALL laws should be reversed including his SCOTUS appt
I suggest as a remedy we separate the General election from the Presidential election and start the 4yr cycle forward after the removal of Trump. @HillaryClinton rightfully deserves 4 years in office.

I’ll grant you back in the normal days before the-hack-heard-around-the-world 2016 election I would agree.

Not anymore. We need radical changes to the outdated election system. I’ve been screaming it for years.
