With the loss of the GO-TTC fare discount, let’s see how long it takes to get to campus from Highway 407 Station on foot to save $3.20 each way. 
I’ll start by following the signs to street level. It’s pretty in the late afternoon sun.

Campus! 27 minutes to walk here from the GO platform.
If you’re coming from YRT to York U, you have to cross Steeles Avenue at street level as the mezzanine underneath is entirely in the TTC fare zone.

And 43 minutes to where the GO buses used to stop. York Boulevard is empty and quiet.

The failure to maintain even the weakest of fare integration measures (a $1.50 discount for transferring between GO and TTC) just proves how we get so little right in the Golden Horseshoe, the country’s economic heartland.
