In the run up to woman's day, following the clarion call given by Hon PM Shri @narendramodi ji for women empowerment, I want to highlight a few women from my constituency who have inspired many people, including me to become better human beings.
While there are innumerable such women, I am sharing short anecdote for some of these women who work hard to transform the world around us.
Dr. Snehlata Deshmukh has been VC of Mumbai Univ & Dean of Sion hospital. Apart from her big contribution to education,she has been an eminent paediatric surgeon & one of the founders of neo-natal department of KEM Hospital. Her positivity is infectious.
88 yr old young, Smt Anandini Thakoor works persistently with various Bandra ALMs to bring about socio-economic changes to our society with various activities.
And yes, she is known for keeping us, public representatives on our toes. ☺
After her son Capt. Vinayak Gore was martyred in Kashmir in Sept 1995 at a raw age of 26 yrs, Smt Anuradha Gore made it her life’s mission to inspire other youngsters join the Army and serve our country.

Dr Alka Mandke is currently Head of the anestesiology dept. at Kokilaben Hospital, her mantra of "Discipline, sincerity, hard work, cordial behaviour with colleagues & compassion towards nurses, technicians" has brought has a sea change to her profession.
Smt Madhu Poplai has led from the front with her team at Pali Hill Resident's Association. In collaboration with BMC, they have built Mumbai's 1st ever citizen-inspired waste to energy power project in Bandra. They won Skotch award for this project.
Smt Jyoti Mhapsekar is one of the founding members of Stree Mukti Sanghatana, an NGO that works in Mumbai,Thane,Navi Mumbai, Dombivali and has 3,000 waste pickers. Her NGO also helps in construction of bio-gas plants, with waste management projects.

Smt. Shakti Munshi, who herself witnessed the adversaries of being a Kashmiri Pandit, works for Kashmiri pandits' welfare, and various other social activities in Powai and it's adjoining areas.
Mrs. Sandra Shroff is the tough octogenarian, who keeps pushing the envelope for citizen causes. She puts politician, bureaucrats and citizens to work to ensure that any task at hand is always completed.
Zora D'Sa works at CitiBank, she has championed the cause of the needy by providing free ambulance services across Maharashtra & providing learning opportunities in tribal areas near Mumbai.
