hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I tested COVID19 positive on Wednesday and it looks like I'm fully recovered now. Just telling you this to confirm that for most healthy people this looks like a weird flu. Happy to talk to anyone anxious about it. Stay safe!
quick summary: had the first symptoms on Tuesday 10, some coughing and a bit of feverish feeling (but so mild that never thought it would be covid). Wednesday it got a bit worse and my fever got to 38.6C. Treated with paracetamol and ibuprofen.
On Wednesday, the Spanish public health team came (fully equipped) to take the samples (urine and nose-throat swab). Gave me some documentation on how to live with covid patients and how to clean spaces where covid patients had been, as well as some masks and gloves.
Results came the next day... in about 20 hours total. They asked me to stay at home until I get better and they would keep in touch with me for a final test to confirm that I'm healthy (and that I can leave home).
TLDR: My mind was in alarm mode so I couldn't believe that what I had was it. It felt so mild. For context, I'm 30 and healthy.
Also, important takeaway: I must have gotten it on a normal day in Madrid when confirmed cases were around 200. This is really easy to get, so please make sure that your elders stay at home, isolated and your friends follow all the recommendations from public health 🙏.
