I’m out near the checkpoint drive-thru testing site in New Rochelle. It’s really surreal. Truly something out of a movie. State Troopers wearing face masks are at the checkpoint as cars approach, through a loud speaker, they ask them if they’re here to be tested.
They tell them roll your window down a little and then tell them to drive to the next checkpoint. Some of the people in cars have multiple passengers. Some wearing masks. This will become the norm as more drive-thru sites open across the country.
The state says about 150 vehicles can thru the testing site yesterday. There has been a steady stream so far this morning. The site can handle 200 a day.
