I've been getting a lot of questions and folks reaching out about #COVID19 and I know that it's a really scary time right now so I wanted to help provide some clarity and actions you can take:
1) It's important to always follow the most up-to-date guidance. You can find that here: cdph.ca.gov and sandiegocounty.gov/coronavirus/.

The Gov's office has said home isolation for anyone over the age of 65 or at higher risk and maximizing social distancing for everyone.
2) Help your friends & neighbors! Make sure to check in with your friends, family, & neighbors who are elderly or otherwise isolated. If you can—offer to pick up groceries and supplies or just chat on the phone. They are probably feeling really lonely and scared right now.
If you can afford to keep paying service providers in your life, even if you can't use their services right now, do it. They are struggling right now.

Order in delivery or buy gift cards from small businesses in your area.
3) Volunteer! @MamasKitchenSD, @SDFoodBank, & @MealsonWheelsSD urgently need volunteers. If you are able and healthy, consider lending some time.

And there is a mutual aid group set up in San Diego and you can sign up to volunteer through them at: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…
4) Donate—Orgs like @SDFoodBank & @FeedingSanDiego are working hard to ensure that food is still being provided to those who need.

@SDforEveryChild has created a fund to help kids receive food, child care, and distance learning during school closures: sandiegoforeverychild.org/donate/.
And a fund to help those whose incomes are being affected by this crisis, and to help pay bills, is being set up and I will share more information on that once it's live.
5) Need help yourself?

A list of all school district food distributions can be found here: sdcoe.net and all food distribution locations in operation are listed on my211.force.com/s/service-dire… or you can call 2-1-1.
YMCA is doing enhanced referrals for childcare needs for healthcare workers - 619-952-0242 or 1-800-481-2151 (myreferral@ymca.org).

And the mutual aid group is taking individual support requests here: docs.google.com/forms/d/10tX53….
6) And lastly, show kindness. Everyone is scared and doing the best they can. We are only going to get through this by working together (remotely) and knowing that every choice we make affects everyone else.

Anything I missed? Let me know! I'll try to keep this up-to-date!
The San Diego Foundation has now released details of this fund which you can find here: sdfoundation.org/programs/progr….
