—But Pientka *already knew* Millian had an open FBI counterintelligence case against him, because he was consulted on opening it!
The obvious conclusion: why did SSA 1 not consider it a major red flag that Steele was apparently relying on someone the FBI had a counterintelligence case open on for many of the dossier's allegations?🤔

This is what Horowitz looked at. Note the bottom highlighted text-- it appears the FBI sent one of the Crossfire Hurricane supervisory agents into briefings with the candidates. That's already a big no-no.
Glenn Simpson of FusionGPS and Jonathan Winer, someone who dealt with Steele a lot and was at the center of this Nexus, refused to be interviewed and couldn't be compelled.

Background: The IG review examined the opening of Crossfire Hurricane, the opening of cases on Papadopoulos, Page, Manafort, and General Flynn, Christopher Steele and his role, The Ohr's, and other spies used in the operation.
Horowitz interviewed a ton of people but was not able to compel the testimony of Glenn Simpson and Jonathan Winer, another indication of why the Durham investigation is absolutely necessary before we reach a full conclusion on what happened.
