Following Macron’s speech yesterday, I got a text this morning, with a link to govt’s website detailing what we can and can’t do.
✅Run necessary errands/go to work if we can’t work from home/health-related travel/sport (alone).
❌ Any gathering/other travel.
We need to carry an authorisation (piece of paper where we explain why we left home, dated and signed -can be downloaded/printed or copied manually. Also in shops with a printer).
€38 to €135 fine if the rules ain’t respected.
Seems to be working:,massive change since yesterday
A lot less people in the streets and people are now queuing 2 meters away from each other. Entering 1 by 1 in the small shops (bakery).

As a @UniofOxford study seems to claim herd immunity could have been achieved already with 33m UK people infected, all the other data and basic calculations dare come in the way of a comforting theory

It would indeed be a quite radical development if figures worldwide indicating 20% of the infected people (1 out of 5) end up in hospital turned out to be 0.1% (1 out of 1,000).
(Is it surprising all testing campaigns missed all these asymptomatic mildly infected people?)
Hey guys I’m no epidemiologist but if the virus spread widely since mid-January to half the UK population, why on Earth would it have waited *more than a month & a half* before to kill someone?
So yeah I trust @imperialcollege’s model, as in come on @UniofOxford

Also ”fun” fact: if only 1 out of 1,000 ends up in hospital, that would mean 33,000 COVID19 patients hospitalised (out of the 33m infected)
And something like 198k dead people, acc. to the lowest ever recorded mortality rate

7-years ago I had a stem cell transplant I was isolated for 9-months, the following is what I learnt about staying well and sane: All the below are connected and overlap:
2/Firstly (and this is difficult) you need to adjust to and accept your new reality. Don’t fight it, live in the moment on a day by day basis.
3/ Keep clean, continue to regularly wash hands even at home. Have a stringent hygiene routine. Have a shower every morning, keep good oral health as there is a weird connection between mouth infections and your immune system.

As we think of physical distancing + social solidarity, a thread on things that those of us with economic resources should consider personally doing right away.
Let’s take stock of the workers whose labour run our homes as we “work from home” because we can. (1/10).
For domestic workers, offer paid leave. If you can’t, offer full pay for reduced hours. If you can’t, offer a bonus to privatise their transport to your homes. If nothing else, offer a bonus of an extra month’s income. (2/10).
For those who collect waste from our homes, reduce collection days as much as you can without
cutting costs so they can reduce their labour and the need to go from home to home, thereby reducing their exposure. (3/10).
