JOY, COURAGE, DEDICATION
Track&Field has given me that and much more throughout the last 17 years. It has been a privilege to compete at the intercollegiate level and I enjoyed every second of it to the fullest. Through this sport I traveled the world, met amazing people and life long friends.
For all the returning and future Dragons, I strongly believe that Track&Field will guide you on the right path as well, so go out there and ENJOY every minute it and dont take a second for granted.
Thank you to my teammates, coaches, friends, and most importantly my family as you all supported me along the way.

The #TrackAndField season may be cancelled but #DragonsMarchOn ... 📝 via @AnnaStCatherine ... This year came and went faster than I could have ever imagined, and I don’t think any of us are completely sure how to come to terms with it yet.
While this is nowhere close to how I wanted to end the year, I’m always grateful for the opportunities and friendships that grow through track. I’ll never be ready to say goodbye to any of our seniors or anyone else moving on from our team,
but I know we all share memories and bonds that can never be taken away no matter the circumstance. Throughout this year, three words that were always on the forefront of my mind were “Attack. Trust. Execute.” when it came to track. Right now, trust is the most important one.

The #TrackAndField season may be cancelled but #DragonsMarchOn ... 📝 via @summerstorm1997 ... I’m not ready to say goodbye, and quite honestly I think I’m still in denial. But track, you have treated me well for the past 10 years of my life.
You’ve taught me self-discipline and how to push myself to ultimate limits. I’ve gotten to meet so many amazing people and will keep as life long friends. I want to thank my coaches for getting me to the point I am today. I want to thank my teammates for helping make the best me.
I want to thank my family for all the love and support. I will miss every second of my track and field career, but also cherish those memories for the rest of my life.

Last week I oversaw the comms plan for @SFConservMusic. It was a doozy, as all crisis communications tend to be.

For anyone working on coronavirus communications and messaging, an "under the hood" thread that’s hopefully helpful:
@SFConservMusic 1) Don’t be reactionary.

Even if you are reacting to what’s going on in the world, don’t sound that way. Sound like you have a plan and are being proactive. “These are the steps we’re taking…” instead of “given the situation, we are…”
@SFConservMusic 2) The words you use matter.

I try to avoid words like “we are monitoring the situation” (automatically sounds negative…we’ve got a *situation*), or “crisis”, and instead say things like “we are monitoring the news” or “this is the preparedness plan.”

Given this is a much more trivial subject to exemplify, but the sentiment is the same.
I bought new tires from Bell Tire. Within a year they had dry rotting on the sidewalls!
This was also at a time I was a very busy brick and mortar retail store owner.
I stopped at Bell Tire to complain and show them. Yes this is a warranty issue. They needed to get with the manufacturer, took my number and assured a follow up.

A couple days later, I get a call saying "we are waiting on whatever, we haven't forgot about you sir, blah blah"
So, as very busy people can attest, 1 month rolls into the next and before you know it a year passed. And not a word, chit! Follow up came to mind at midnight often... Well at this point I'm basically screwed. I tried going in and explaining, only got shrugs.
