₹1.7 lakh crore economic relief package announced for poor and daily wagers. Finance Ministry to begin disbursements immediately. To cover DBTs and food security under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.

With focus on food security, Pradhan Mantri Garib Ann Yojana announced. In additional to the specified quota under the PDS, additional 5kg wheat or rice to be given for the next 3 months. Additionally, 1kg dal to be allotted.
The grains can be withdrawn in two instalments over a period of 3 months.
Cash transfer based on DBT: Farmers who get Rs 6,000 annually under PM-Kisan will get first installment of Rs 2,000 in addition which will be given immediately in the first week of April to avoid any shortage of cash.
More than 8.50 Crore farmers will receive their payments via the DBT mechanism in the first week of April.
Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme: Poor widow, poor pensioners, poor disabled will be given ex-gratia an additional amount of Rs 1000 over the next three months in two instalments.
MGNREGA wages to be increased, to help over 5 Crore families. Every worker under the MGNREGA to get a hike of Rs. 2000.
For 20 Crore women holding accounts under the Jan Dhan Yojana, an amount of Rs. 500 will be transferred for the next 3 months, via the DBT mechanism to ensure no shortage of money.
Under the Ujjwala scheme, women will be given free cylinders for the next three months. This will benefit over 8.3 Crore BPL families.
Over 63 Lakh Self-Help Groups will aid 7 Crore households by way of collateral free loans. The limit has been raised to RS. 20 Lakh from existing Rs. 10 Lakh.
FM: Govt of India to pay employer and employee provident fund contribution (12%+12% of salary= 24%) for next three months for all those organisations with less than 100 employees out of which 90% earning below Rs 15,000 per month.
4.8 crores EPFO registered workers can withdraw 3-month wages or 75% of their PF fund, whichever is lower, as a non-refundable advance.
For the benefit of construction workers
State governments to be directed to utilise an existing Rs 31,000 crore welfare fund for the benefit for 3.5 crore construction workers.
District Mineral Fund: Central Govt to request State Govts to use this fund to augment medical testing and screening and providing health attention in the wake of Covid-19 outbreak.
Bank mergers on track. Necessary arrangements to be in place for smooth transfer of funds.
