REPORTED DEATHS:
This morning we reported 2 deaths had occurred as a result of COVID-19 virus. The 1sr patient was a 48 year old female who tested positive for COVID-19 on the 23rd March 2020. She was suffering from pulmonary embolism. This means she had an underlying disease.

And my other assignment from vgr is 100 opinions on mainstream parenting, whether anyone likes this or not :-). I probably can’t do them all in one sitting, but I’ll start anyway.
Big caveat that mainstream parenting isn’t a single thing, and my perception of it is presumably all kinds of flawed. I do not have much depth of knowledge about mainstream parenting.
1. There is a big fault line I see about parenting. On one side, parents think their children should obey them. On the other side, no one can stomach the word “obey”, but parents still want kids to do what the parents, er, “request” or them.

I really enjoyed the membranous nephropathy session (happy 10th birthday PLA2R) at #KidneyWk, and here were some highlights:
@LaurenceHBeckJ1 PLA2R titers fall 3-6 months before reduction in proteinuria in MN. PLA2R titers are used as a secondary endpoint for both the GEMRITUX trial and MENTOR trials #KidneyWk.
@LaurenceHBeckJ1 Treat patients with PLA2R positive MN until the ELISA is <2 or the IFA is negative (more sensitive) #KidneyWk

Issue: EU Settlement Scheme

Desired message: "It is easy, we are efficient and generous."

Strategy:

1. Start with a meaningless but heartfelt soundbite

E.g. Take inspiration from migrant rights campaigners. How about "you are our friends, neighbours..."
2. Avoid specifics whenever possible

E.g. Speak about people who "were granted status", try not to differentiate settled vs. pre-settled status
3. Use big numbers without context

E.g. Speak about "1.4 MILLION" (emphasise "million" dramatically) people getting "status", do not mention how many are left or that you have no idea how many exactly have to apply.
