A quick @awscloud capacity observation for various journalists!

AWS sells excess capacity as something known as "spot instances." They cost way less than their normal "on-demand" pricing, with the caveat that they can be terminated with 2 minutes' warning.
Their tool demonstrates that the interruption rate remains low. This means they're not nearing the edge of their capacity constraints in most regions. aws.amazon.com/ec2/spot/insta…
Now, if we check the pricing history over the last three months, we do see a gradual increase to reflect the increased demand--but it's nowhere near the on-demand price, and there are no reports of capacity shortfalls due to COVID19.
So, the short takeaway:

"Yes, @awscloud is seeing increased demand, but it's not causing capacity shortfalls."

This is why they set fire to a giant pile of money in terms of infrastructure expansion investment years ago.
