Covid is exposing the GOP’s fraudulent conservative “principles”: They had no issues w/deficit-destroying tax cuts, yet ideology sabotages the Corona response.

Ideology is a human construct. Human constructs are a luxury when dealing w/the decimation of a humanitarian crisis.1/
To be clear, Trump is non-ideological. The only ideology that drives him is his narcissistic/sociopathic impulses. That being said he's susceptible to ideologues (Stephen Miller/Federalist Society) whispering in his ear. As a result people are dying over GOP obstinance/delay. 2/
For example, states/governors can’t get supplies. And when they do, they are paying exponentially higher prices, and often not just losing bidding wars…..but losing access to crucial equipment/supplies…

Because: Free market…

And people die…

It's a fictional human construct that relies on the "faith" (consumer confidence) of the masses.

And similar to other contexts (religion) that require faith, the congregation is made up of people who "worship" it....

Exposing sensationalism is not sensational....anymore than pointing out pathological dishonesty is Fake News.

Exposing a problem is not *the problem*, it is the first step in resolving it. A solution has to involve negative consequences for lying/disinforming. Unfortunately...1/

Testing has increased but definitely needs to be ramped up more. We have logistic challenges as well as availability of testing kits and trained personnel. The current test is a real time PCR that takes about 7-8 hours for results to be back. Webinar by @India_Alliance on #Corona
Private labs have been designated for testing but a lot more needs to be done. Some have come up with techniques that can bring us results in 2-3 hours but sensitivity and specificity needs to be assessed. We are slowly getting there. Webinar by @India_Alliance on #Corona

Cannot agree more here. Basically this is contingency planning for Covid-19. Authorities needs to start working thoroughly by creating scenarios and responsive actions based on the situation. As per WHO risk assessment this outbreak is globally on category “HIGH”.(1/11)
PREPARE FOR A PANDEMIC! #COVIDー19 meets 2 of the 3 factors needed to be classified as a Pandemic; 1- illness resulting death 2- Sustained person-to-person spread 3- Worldwide spread. In no time we have to hear this as it has spiked on foreign lands in the past few days (2/11).
Although some of the efforts of preparedness have been done which needs to be escalated and boosted by the Maldivian authorities. I Would like to highlight few of the steps for better preparation. (3/11)

2. This isn’t to say partisanship, poor behavior, even corruption isn’t a both-sides problem. It is. But, a zero-sum interpretation is ridiculous. We have never had a POTUS that was as corrupt, unethical, untruthful and unhinged as Trump.
3. The normalization of Trump has come through the sheer onslaught of his scandals and the Groundhog Day manner the media has afforded him. The same shocking revelations and behavior discussed each time like it’s new - an endless norm-shattering Ferris Wheel.

2. One, an optimistic appeal to the integrity of the people of our country, offers hope for the future. The other hints at a slippery slope with no bottom. The end justifies the means no matter the cost. I find it doubtful this dark message is what Republicans teach their kids
3. There's no daylight between Trump and #GOP leaders who've have had 2+ years to decide who they are - those of character have already left the party. The rest have gladly molded themselves into Trump’s vision, fully embracing fear-mongering, nationalism, division and lies.
