Yesterday, we got our answer to our thread below during the #COVID19 hearing from #DrFauci. #thread holding a #thread.
We asked @SteveFDA to release the study to prove us wrong. He didn’t because we were not. What we didn’t know was the full use guidance. This is what Dr. Fauci said.
Let’s break down exactly what he has said here. 1: The use guidance- This Drug is for pts that are in hospital w/ lung issues. Meaning, your sick enough to require a ventilator. Once you reach that point, you will get #Remdesivir.
This use directly counteracts @ScottGottliebMD own stated best use for the drug. He stated along with @GileadSciences own studies that the drug had to be administered within the first 5-10days to be an effective treatment.
2: The endpoint use was a faster time to recovery. 31% was found by the study. What they are not saying is that 31% faster for those that Do recover. Other wise your 31% faster to your death.

This makes the use of the drug a case management tool. And we are torn on this.
During an emergency you need to manage resources and this is managing those resources and inventory. The resources/ inventory are beds and ventilators.

You have to be 100% up front about this though and they have not been.
The cold hard fact is #Remdesivir is an inventory management use drug. Given an EUA to help hospitals clear beds faster when they become overran. This drug is not a life saving treatment it’s an accelerator of the virus’s outcome. Be it death or life by 31%.
