#Kashmir is witnessing a major decline in #terrorists activities post abrogation of #Article370. A major positive shift is the 42% decline in youth joining terror groups this year.

Another positive aspect has been that no stone-pelting incidents are being reported during anti-#terrorist operations this year. Stone-pelting protests at the encounter sites had emerged as a major problem for security forces in #Kashmir since late 2016.

There has also been a drop in large gatherings at funerals of #terrorists that have been effectively used to recruit youths in the past and only a handful of close relatives are seen at burial grounds.

The arrest of overground workers (OGW), who serve as the eyes and ears of #terrorists, has been another factor in curbing terrorist activities. More than 240 OGWs have been arrested and booked this year.

At the same time Security Forces have intensified anti-terrorists operations neutralizing more 165 terrorists this year. In the 03 months since the beginning of the lockdown, 78 #terrorists have been eliminated by government forces.

In last three weeks, govt forces have conducted operations at unprecedented pace, 23 #Terrorists have been eliminated by the #Indian Forces in 10 different encounters in the said duration.

The govt forces have successfully eliminated the top #terrorists leadership including Riyaz Naikoo, Junaid Sehrai, Burhan Koka of Ansar Ghazwat-Ul-Hind & Bashir Koka of Lashkar, along with Abdur Rehman of Pakistan. This has broken the back of terror groups in the valley.
