1. Today is my 24th birthday, but it has already been celebrated ahead of time in June, days before the enactment of the sweeping #nationalsecuritylaw.
2. Under #Beijing’s grip, when blank placards are regarded as subversive, w/ liberal books pulled from libraries and #TiananmenSquareMassacre censored, no #HKers can tell whether they'll be safe in the next minute. All we can do is fighting for the best & preparing for the worst
3. All I wish this year is another birthday meal with my family next year, the safe return of the #12hkyouths, and the release of thousands of freedom-seeking #Hkers now detained in prison. #save12
4. It turned out that on a typhoon-struck Tuesday, I enjoyed some tranquility at home celebrating with a Pokèmon #Pikachu birthday cake. Probably the most fortunate day in this year of adversity with #corgie wearing the cloak of #ScoutRegiment in #AttackOnTitan.

1/ The arrest serve as “testing the waters”. By arresting me with a comparatively minor charge, the authorities is testing whether the global community would react, and if so, how strong will the reactions be.
2/ To their dismay, the response from all of you, and others who support HKers, proves that Beijing has every right to be worried. My arrest, undoubtedly a political prosecution, is clearly designed to intimidate the people of HK ahead of the Oct 1 Beijing’s National Day.
3/ There is nothing to celebrate on my prompt release. It only illustrates how the Hong Kong government is not doing their job, they ought to be devoting the effort into helping the 12 young asylum seekers, not arresting me with the absurd anti-mask ban.
[Companies should find ways to reduce vulnerability to #Beijing]
1. #China’s new unreliable entity list adds one more widget to its tool kits of economic statecraft, under which it has full discretion in determining which companies are problematic.
2. Beijing’s #LiaisonOffice recently called for a “new struggle against three mountains, from legal, education to social service sectors”, where local courts are required to serve Beijing’s punitive arm and which calls into question whether judicial independence can be sustained
3. So long as #HongKong continues to function as the gateway of global capital flowing into China, foreign companies and governments still have the leverage to call for more #HumanRights and #freedom protections.
[#China slams HK judges using judiciary independence to challenge its authority]
1. #CCP mouthpiece People’s Daily attacks HK courts for using judiciary ind to challenge its authority, days after #LiaisonOffice urged a “new struggle against 3 mountains” that targets legal sector
2. The essay blasted judges for regarding #hkpolice as “dishonest witnesses”, although courts have already explained their ruling regarding the inconsistency behind the police’s evidence.
3. The paper also criticized the local judges for misinterpreting the One Country Two Systems and failing to uphold their duty to protect #Chinese national interests and national security.

3/ There is a high chance that I will be sentenced to jail. If I am convicted, I can face up to a maximum of 5 years in jail for unauthorized assembly and 1 year for wearing a mask.
