About #pledges, elected legislators and listening to diverse opinions: we are concerned that our representatives at #Westminster & in the #Senedd don’t adopt positions which eradicate the reality of same-sex attraction & the protected characteristic of #sexualorientation 1/14

Some MPs, for instance, have endorsed the Labour ‘LGBT+’ Pledge. We give the benefit of the doubt; maybe they haven’t thought it through. We hope the #Senedd, looking at a forthcoming Action Plan allegedly about us, makes sure it considers our views in putting it together. 2/14

We want training for #RSE teachers, including the importance of watchful waiting, rigorous #safeguarding & refusal of #transingawaythegay. NSPCC guidance is clear about #secrets 3/14

All parents have a right to see material taught , & insist on the biological & evolutionary reality of #sex. We are lucky enough to live nearly 200 years after Darwin & believe policy should be based on scientific evidence. 4/14

Crime against vulnerable people has risen across Wales (2019 report ONS); we think it desirable to make homophobia an aggravating feature. We note that violence against #women & girls has shot up during the pandemic, & think this is a priority. 5/14https://bit.ly/32WUvtj 5/14

Our health system needs to be properly funded, w/ long term planning for care, pandemics &c. As citizens we support a successful NHS for all, including robust support for everyone’s #mentalhealth. 6/14

We do not support irreversible treatment for young people who may become #lesbian or #gay, or experimental puberty blockers which do long-term harm. We want to protect our young LGB community to become happy, healthy adults. 7/14

#Housing has been a core issue for lesbian & gay activists since the 1970’s, from youth homelessness to a secure old age w/ people we love. We continue to organise for proper housing provision & recognition of causes of homelessness for LGB people, especially our youngsters. 8/14

It is evident nonsense to suggest ‘watchful waiting’ is to be outlawed as implied by some, or only approach is social/medical transition. Politicians should be guided by

LGB people are attacked in many countries, inc where reassignment is promoted to reduce homosexuality. UK needs a humane system recognising needs of those escaping regimes which brutalise & execute us, eg bit.ly/38QcNQF #enddeportation of LGB & press for reform. 11/14

We #oppose the campaign to reform the GRA. #sexnotgender. Self-declaration of identity abandons material sex in law & eradicates boundaries, leading to nonsense like this tweet. This is not ‘inclusion’; it is #rapeculture. 12/15

We call on politicians in all parties to examine their heads & hearts regarding LGB people, #samesexattraction & #sexualorientation. Recognise the impact on our youngsters, our communities, our rights & our culture when leaders parrot of the TRA agenda. 13/14
