Many articles state that Kurdish separatism is heavily fueled by #US & #Israel, in an attempt to undermine regional powers such as Turkey, Iran & Syria. Kurdish separatism is seen as a way to weaken these powers’ grip over their citizens & #Kurds as footmen to use against enemies
It's true, Israel has been attempting 2 influence Kurdish politics for a long time. The Kurds, often biased by their own hope for an independent state, misperceived this as solidarity of 1 stateless people to another. But Israel has adopted general interference policy decades ago
The ‘Alliance of the periphery’ is the name of the foreign policy strategy that Israel's Ben Gurion developed 2start strategic alliances with non-Arab Muslim states & minorities throughout West Asia to counteract the opposition of Arab states to the existence of Israel as a state
It's not hard to see why Gurion's Periphery doctrine is still being applied to the Kurdish people today. It needs the Kurds as a tool to use against its threats: an unpredictable Turkish president, an anti-zionist Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, & of course archenemy Iran.
It is thus common knowledge that Israel & Iranian-Kurdish insurgent org's have common interest in weakening the Islamic Republic of Iran. Which is also the main reason Israel has shown major interest in monitoring Kurdish terror groups like #PJAK+ arming, training& financing them
Diplomatic cables leaked by @wikileaks contain statements made by Meir Dagan, director of Israel’s Mossad 2 U.S. officials in Aug 2007 calling 4 support of Kurdish groups, among them PJAK, to destabilize Tehran. These statements were confirmed by @Jerusalem_Post
Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh writing in The New Yorker, supported foreign involvement, stating that the US military & the Israelis are giving the group equipment, training, and targeting information in order to cause destruction in Iran.
Seymour Hersh also published an article stating :"Now, Israel has 100s of agents, including members of Mossad operating in Kurdish areas of Iraq. In addition, Mossad is conducting covert op's in Kurdish areas of Iran & Syria.
A "source in Baghdad" told @Malbrunot
of Le Figaro that Mossad are actively recruiting Iranian Kurds & training them in spy-craft &sabotage. Also, "a gov consultant with ties 2 Pentagon" confirmed Israel provided PJAK with "equipment & training" 2 carry out attacks within Iran.
This is acknowledged by scholars, incl. N. Entessar of @UofSouthAlabama, S. Elik of @istmedeniyet & D. Achilov of @ETSUnews
Inst. of Oriental Studies of Russian Academy of Science: "thanks 2 @wikileaks, it's a documented fact that Israel uses groups like PJAK against Iran."
In a book published by Routledge in 2016, co-authors Robert Scheer and Reese Ehrlich write "The Israelis are also helping train PJAK for its armed forays into Iran. But given the sentiment among Arabs and Muslims, the Israeli government tries to keep its activities quiet."
Phyllis Bennis, academic at Institute 4 Policy Studies in Washington says: "PJAK is made up of Iranian Kurds whose members attack Iran, but who are also based in the Kurdish region of Iraq. Israel supports PJAK's anti-Iran mobilization."
As you can see, academics & prize-winning authors are backing the claim that Israel is arming, financing and training them, in an attempt to use them against Israel’s enemies. Kurdish people should realize well they are used as footmen to weaken Iran, Syria and Turkey by Israel.
@nadinemaenza finds it strange the Syrian gov condemns her visit to North-East Syria. Though officially a UN advocate for religious freedom, one only needs to spend 1 minute at Maenza's social media profiles to see whose asset she is and which side in the conflict she prefers.
Maenza should't forget that there IS religious freedom in Syria. Christians, Yazidis, Sunnis, Alawi's, Druze & Shia's live together in peace. The US-backed jihadi invasion is the sole obstruction 2 religious freedom in Syria. She shouldn't use her function 2 promote US proxies.
"The Syrian gov. condemns the visit by the American delegation because it's a violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian A. Republic. The UN, in all resolutions concerning my country, has
reaffirmed that the sovereignty of Syria must be respected &rigorously observed."
This Iranian-Azeri @MrAhmadHashemi is recruited by #CIA to sow discord among Iran's multi-ethnic population, from his comfy apartment in Washington DC.
He praises Azerbaijan's crimes agaist Armenia and expresses hope it will do the same in Iran...
Neo-Ottomanism is a threat to the whole region. Khalifa Erdogan has set foot & caused chaos in #Syria, Libya, and is responsible for the killing of many #Kurds, Syrians and Armenians
The US has closed its eye to Turkey slaughtering Kurds, Azerbaijan beheading Armenians and sees pan-Turkism as a way to cause chaos inside Iran as well. Iranian Azerbaijan is shared by Kurds and Azeris who have lived together in peace for centuries.
Op-ed ⬇️
In today's warfare & geopolitics, Human Rights has become 1 of the most abused words in the dictionary. Politicians & govs use 'Human Rights' to discredit their opponents, as argument to invade & as a tool to justify own actions & policies.
This article includes the history of #HumanRights, how it got politicalized and became a 'Western' hegemony that neglects its own violations & some of the outrageous allegations, sanctioning & invasions based on HR reports we face in #China#Russia#Iran nowadays.
Some excerpts:
The horrors of fascism created an evolving consensus around human rights as an international norm that led to the 'Universal Declaration of Human Rights'. This declaration became the foundation of a multitude of global & regional measures that established a body of HR law.

“Russia and China’s veto in relation to US-imposed Caesar sanctions” by Hedwig Kuijpers link.medium.com/HnLJ52ZWW7
Russia, backed by China, has cast its 14th veto in the UN security council concerning the delivery of aid to Syria over its land borders, as the harsh Caesar sanctions crack down on the Syrian people...
Russia's veto is met with controversiality, called 'despicable' by Amnesty and criticized by Antonio Guterres and others, while the same 'defenders of humanity' refuse to speak out on poverty and famine caused by the US-imposed Caesar sanctions.
