⚠️VERY WORRIED FOR FLORIDA/US—More contagious #B117 is rising quickly, & exponentially replacing the old dying #SARSCoV2 common strain. B117 affects kids, & 64% more severe. B117 now over 40%—dominant in days. A new surge is coming. Florida inaction= Florida ➡️ US surge. #COVID19
2) Been watching this B117 situation for 2 months. We already saw very worrisome signs in Miami Dade this week.
3) CDC director was warning about US surge looming because of #B117 too.
4) Been warning #B117 is coming.... predicted last month that it will be US dominant by late March. But Florida by March 9th when it will cross 50%. Maybe even earlier now.
5) @K_G_Andersen’s group had predicted March 8th for Florida domination of #B117. we might just hit that on the nail...
6) We were also warned in Denmark 🇩🇰 which saw cases rise again once #B117 was over 50%.
7) Beside 40-60% more contagious, new Danish data (the best in the world on B117) found severity of #b117 to be 64% worse - increasing risk of hospitalization by 64% compared to old common strain.

Let that sink in— 64% more hospitalizations!
8) And #B117 affects kids possibly more... actually very likely now. In UK where #B117 emerged, kids now highest positivity prevalence
9) #B117 is also taking over France... and look how much higher #COVID19 cases are in places with more #B117.
10) More worrisome... what do we see in French children? #B117 dominates kids age 0-9 more than any other group. Matches UK 🇬🇧 pediatric data too.
11) We predicted this long ago... the same thing that happened in Denmark (figure below) is the same thing that is happening in Florida now. Pandemic is diverging into two. The old 1.0 pandemic is dying out. The new variant driven one is rising...
12) Brazil may be all our future if we don’t act fast.
13) we need to stop this nonsense ASAP. We need to hold accountable those inciting and encouraging reckless public endangerment. Please stop this.
14) Nationwide, #B117 is at 27% of all #COVID19 cases, or 25% on a 5 day moving average.

Florida had hit that level on Feb 23rd. So US overall is about ~10 days behind Florida in terms of #B117 surge.

(SGTF is a shortcut PCR test for #B117, which 99-100% of SGTF currently are)

New: CDC recommendations:

📌Fully vaccinated people can gather together indoors.

📌If grandparents have been vaccinated, they can visit family if they haven’t been vaccinated only if so long as they’re not at risk for severe disease. #COVID19

In other 🇬🇧 news—

Schools across England are reopening again *today*. No school mask requirements. No school air quality & ventilation guidelines—it is so dangerous that it is “medieval” says Professor @theAliceRoberts.

God save 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 & its children from #B117. #COVID19
2) UK 🇬🇧 was sooooo close to #ZeroCovid - just a few weeks more - but all of that is put into jeopardy by lies by the govt and many of its advisors that misleadingly claim kids don’t/barely transmit. Schools can be safe—but only with airborne precautions and ventilation.
3) French data agrees with the UK data above that children are being afflicted by #B117 than before. This also matches data out of Italy 🇮🇹 and Israel 🇮🇱.

2) The crisis that looms for Brazil 🇧🇷 is almost indescribable. Many doctors in Brazil are screaming the word “genocide” at the level of neglect and willful efforts to block anything that will stop the pandemic.
3) Here was the situation last week in one the **wealthiest** regions in Brazil. Look how hospitalizations and deaths have taken off with the rise of the #P1 variant that is more infectious and also has some properties of reinfection. ImageImage
