 Aindryābhiṣek, aka Mahābhiṣek, is done for starting a new line of Indra.

Bharata, son of Duṣyanta, himself did Aindryābhiṣek. Its procedure is given in Aitareya Brahmana (part of Rigved) ImageImageImage

 Previous coronations in Deccan were a mix of Vedic & Puranic rites, whereas Shivaji Maharaj intended for a purely Vedic one (Aindryābhiṣek), which hadn't been done for previous several centuries.

 The procedure was thought to be extinct, till Gagabhatt researched and revived it.

 Gagabhaṭṭa & Shivaji Maharaj knew each other for atleast *5 years* before the coronation (1669 dispute resolution letter mentioning both👇)

So the common insinuation:- "Shivaji Raje *suddenly* thought of calling a Brahmin from North to do coronation" falls flat on its face Image

 Gagabhatt's family was originally from Maharashtra itself. They had moved to Varanasi in 1525 CE, because it was (and is) the prime learning centre for Hindu religious matters. ImageImage

Coronation of Shivaji Maharaj was one of the revolutionary event of the 17th century India. Amidst all the Sultanates & Mughal Empire, a Hindu warrior crowns himself as a King!

 However, there are some myths that need to be busted. Historian Jadunath Sarkar has developed some myths about Coronation & Kshatriya Hood of Shivaji Maharaj.

He called Bhosales as Śudras & mere tillers of soil. Jadunath also says that they were "popularly known" as such.

 This is a ridiculous thing to claim, without any shred of evidence.

This thread will provide the evidence, showing that many people contemporary of Shivaji Maharaj knew, that he *was* a born Kshatriya.

 Chhatrapati Shivraji Maharaj directed efforts to bring about the development of indigenous language for administrative use. Farsi was replaced with a Sanskritized Marathi through the publication of Rajyavyavharkosh - राज्यव्यवहार कोश.

 And that sacred work of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was carried forward by Swantryaveer Savarkar, as is beautifully explained via the above pictorial representation.

 1294: Delhi Sultanate's first incursion south of Vindhyas, vs. Yadava kingdom of Ramchandra Yadava. Delhi gained some territory & wealth after peace talks.

1303: Sultanate's Gujarat invasion. Gujarat king Karna Vaghela sought refuge at Ramchandra Yadava's court

 1307: Sultanate's Yadava invasion. Yadava kingdom vassalised. But next year, Ramchandra Yadava died & his successor, Shankardev Yadava stopped the tribute to Delhi.

Delhi's invasions of Kakatiya (Warangal), Hoysala (Halebidu) & Pandya (Malabar) kingdoms followed till 1310.
