Tricia Raffensperger—wife of @GaSecofState Brad Raffensperger—received multiple threatening texts:

“You and your family will be killed very slowly.”
“We plan for the death of you and your family every day.”
“Somebody in your family is going to have a very unfortunate incident.”

In November, the Raffenspergers went into hiding for nearly a week after intruders broke into the home of their widowed daughter-in-law. That night, Oath Keepers—a RW terrorist group that supports Trump’s bid to overturn the election—were found outside the Raffenspergers’ home.🤬

Many others whose lives have been threatened were low- or mid-level workers. Trump’s dangerous rhetoric could reverberate into the 2022 midterm elections and the 2024 vote by making election workers targets of threatened or actual violence.

This is all due to Trump.🤬

#Georgia election workers—volunteers to senior administrators—continue to get harassing phone calls and emails.

One email sent to officials on 1/2 threatened to BOMB polling sites: “No one at these places will be spared unless and until Trump is guaranteed to be POTUS again.”🤬

The @FBI is investigating.

In #Georgia, threatening violence against a poll officer is a #felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a max fine of $100,000. Making death threats is a separate crime carrying up to 5 years in prison and a $1,000 fine.

Justice is coming.

Fulton County DA Fani Willis (D) is investigating Trump’s interference with #Georgia’s 2020 election and may be probing if Trump, or others with him, solicited or encouraged death threats against election officials. Such intimidation could fit into a possible #RICO charges.😎

🔥“Since launching her inquiry in February, Willis has added several high-profile attorneys to her team, including a leading racketeering (#RICO) expert, to assist on cases including the Trump probe.”

Ralph Jones—election registration chief who oversaw Fulton County’s #MailInBallots—got #racist death threats, calling him a “n-----” who should be shot. Another threatened to kill him by dragging his body with a truck.

All because Ralph did his job supporting our democracy.🤬

In Dec/Jan, Fulton County elections director Richard Barron got ~150 nasty calls accusing him of #treason or saying he should die:

“You actually deserve to hang by your goddamn, soy boy, skinny-ass neck.”

“That’s where you belong, in communist China, because you’re a crook.”

“It seemed like we were descending into this third-world mentality. I never expected that out of this country,” said Barron, who has worked in elections for 22 years and volunteered as an election observer overseas.

Trump’s lies also shook election workers in Paulding County near Atlanta. Election director Deidre Holden got an email: “F_UCKING HEAR THIS PAULDING COUNTY OR D!E” that threatened to blow up the county’s polling sites. “We’ll make the Boston bombings look like child’s play.”🤬

The bomb threat included: “This sh_t is rigged. Until Trump is guaranteed to be POTUS until 2024 like he should be, we will bring death and destruction to defend this country if needed and get our voices heard.”

Gabriel Sterling—@GOP COO for Raffensperger’s election offices who has denounced Trump’s voter-fraud claims as false and dangerous—has gotten threats saying he should go to prison for “rigging” the election against Trump.🙄

Raffensperger’s refusal to overturn the 2020 results has left him ostracized by Republicans. As Raffensperger seeks re-election next year as secretary of state, Trump has endorsed his @GOP challenger, Rep. Jody Hice, who has supported Trump’s baseless fraud claims.🤬

😱Raffensperger’s wife described her continuing fears for her family: “I hesitate to say this because I’m afraid someone might use it against me,” referring to the death of her son, Brenton. “But, you know, I have lost a child, and I don’t ever want to go through that again.”
