In 3 minutes the Thirty Sixth government of Israel is to be sworn in. Ahead of the event I have created this excel document to help introduce who the new ministers are, their positions and a short summary of who they are.
Bennett: Israel will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. Full freedom of action will be maintained. If Hamas chooses violence against Israel, it will encounter an iron wall. The Israeli government will work to deepen ties between Israel and Arab countries
Bennett thanked the administration of US President Joe Biden for its support during the war in Gaza and pledged to maintain bipartisan support in the US.
Bennett: I assure you that this is a government that will work for the benefit of all the people and I promise that no one should feel anxious. This is not a day of mourning. This is democracy. A changing government. that's it. With the help of the god we will rise and succeed
Alternate PM and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid now speaking.
Very short speech from Lapid: "I want to apologize to my mother, I hoped she would be proud of the Israeli democratic process and instead she and every Israeli citizen is both ashamed of you and also remembered why you should be replaced."
Netanyahu now speaking: "I stand here on behalf of the millions of citizens who have chosen to stand tall and not bow their heads. I intend to continue the great mission of my life"
Netanyahu: In all my public positions over 15 years, I have had to work nights and nights, for the sake of our beloved country. We have made Israel a world power and in many areas a power
Netanyahu now listing his achievements as PM. The vaccines, moving embassy, relations with UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, improving relations with Russia, the economy, etc.
Netanyahu: Instead of exploding restaurants - restaurants exploded with diners. It happened because we led a hawkish policy. Our achievements have turned Israel from a marginal state into a rising force. This is our way.
Netanyahu: The Biden admin has asked me to keep the controversy surrounding the nuclear deal in private but I told senior US officials that as Prime Minister I will do everything I can to oppose the agreement.
Netanyahu: Bennett does not have the power and does not have the strength to stand on the issue. A prime minister must be able to say no to the president of the United States.
Netanyahu: I would be happy to be proven wrong, but from the moment the United States returns to the nuclear agreement, the incoming government will also not approve actions within Iran. Iran is celebrating today
Netanyahu: Iran is celebrating today because they know that without our efforts, they would have had a nuclear bomb a long time ago. They know that in Israel today there is a weak government that will effectively align with the dictates of the international community.
Netanyahu: The division of Jerusalem will return to the agenda (under the new government.) I refused to establish the American Palestinian Consulate in Jerusalem.
Netanyahu v. Lieberman: Not everything is black, there may be hope. After all, you are a clean-hearted and kind-hearted finance minister who will surely act only in the national interest
Netanyahu: "I just ask you, spoil the economy as little as possible so that we can fix it quickly when we return. How can we trust someone who deceived his constituents in a scam that we have not seen before in the history of the country?"
Netanyahu: In 1944 the president of the U.S. refused to bomb Auschwitz. He could have saved millions of our people. This is why I will not be silent on the Iran nuclear deal
Netanyahu: like the song, Bennett. beautiful words without cover, promises without backing and the end is always hopeless. There is one Tzaddik in Sodom, Amichai Shekli. Give him applause
Netanyahu: You are afraid of democracy because you are willing to enact fascist laws, in the form of North Korea and Iran, against my candidacy. While I am fighting against Iran, you are bringing laws from Iran.
Netanyahu: "A finance minister who says that ultra-Orthodox people should be put in a landfill and sent to a wheelbarrow. But for you, this is not incitement. It is always freedom of expression."
Netanyahu: Do not silence me. My family and I are going through a hunting campaign, all so that I can bow my head and surrender to the positions of the left.
Netanyahus speech is over. MKs from Likud began clapping which is against the Knesset rules so MKs Ohana and Regev were removed from the plenum by Speaker Yariv Levin.
Various parties will now speak. 9 minutes will be allocated to each.
Initial unconfirmed reports of a rocket attack against Balad Airbase, #Iraq.

Initial reports of 3 rockets landing in the vincinty of #Baghdad Intl. Airport, #Iraq. No CRAM activity reported.
A large fire has erupted at Tondguyan Oil Refinery in #Tehran, #Iran.
Over the last several weeks there has been an increase of fires at Iranian infrastructure sites, as the weather gets hotter we often see parts beginning to fail in the temperatures causing fires to erupt.
Because it’s inevitable there are going to be the responses.
Iran’s infrastructure is ageing, not every fire in Iran is caused by Mossad and likewise not every fire in Israel is called by IRGC.
During the night the #IDF conducted a strike against a military outpost near Al-Hurriyah, Quneitra, #Syria. We have seen previous strikes here conducted by the IDF.
This comes several days after the IDF dropped leaflets in the area (May 27th)
Work continues to map impact sites, output uploaded to here. Still slightly limited to Northern Gaza due to imagery. Will update as and when additional imagery/geolocations are known. google.com/maps/d/u/1/edi…
.@TheIntelLab has been able to map more of the South to show the full spread of impacts.
