As if there isn't enough going on, @DCMS has created a monitoring and evaluation framework for the #NationalDataStrategy. gov.uk/government/pub… #datastrategy #superexcited
Even better, a call for evidence from "stakeholders across the world of digital, data and technology" to help DCMS identify existing appropriate metrics and scope the development of new metrics for future tracking.

I mean who doesn't love metrics right? #datastrategy #datingpool
Wait, there's more. The #NationalDataStrategy Forum now has workstreams!

Good to see this. My recommendation: the new UK #dataprotection law should include reduced record-keeping requirements for organisations with fewer than 250 employees, and also more generally encourage the ICO to take account of the specific needs of SMEs. #UKGDPR #datareform "However, the government recognises that the current re

The #GeospatialCommission has published a list of 300 or so datasets it says are used during the housing and planning process, and highlights in particular a list of 50, "49 of which are covered by OGL".

The GC's list includes some useful datasets, but also quite a few errors. The effect is to overstate the number of #opendata resources that are readily available for the purposes of housing and planning in the UK.

Two big announcements today from @GeospatialC:

● release of UPRNs/USRNs under OGL gov.uk/government/new…

● 10-year Public Sector Geospatial Agreement with OS gov.uk/government/new…

Let's have a look.

The "Open MasterMap" products and APIs mentioned in today's announcement will go live in summer 2020, so there's no #opendata you can download right away.

We don't yet have full specs either. For example OS is still validating its proposal for the Open USRN dataset.
