Here's @AP's report on @DemekeHasen's speech to the #UNGA last night >> apnews.com/article/united…

But I find it rather confusing there are TPLF diplomatic letters in relation to a matter of life and death for 1000s of people in Ethiopia, which have not been made public.
This report covers several of the speeches made yesterday including that by Ethiopia Deputy PM and Foreign Minister @DemekeHasen. 12newsnow.com/article/news/n…
"Ethiopia Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen, who rejected humanitarian concerns over Tigray as part of a “twisted propaganda campaign" in the embattled corner of northern Ethiopia." >> 12newsnow.com/article/news/n…
"Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister, Demeke Mekonnen, says the political and security landscape in Africa is on a path of adversity following a couple of coups and other security activities." voazimbabwe.com/a/ethiopia-mek…
The report published in @VOA Zimbabwe leads off with a strong pan African passage from @DemekeHasen's speech. "..this will be yet another round to destabilize Africa and disenfranchise Africans in the determination of our destiny."
Regarding #GERD Mekonnen is quoted saying: “The generational desire to use our natural resources will not be stopped by a colonial legacy and monopolistic cause. We hope our negotiating partners are prepared for a win-win outcome under the African Union led process.”
"In Ethiopia, groups that consider equality as subjugation are making their best effort to create and prolong anarchy...." - @DemekeHasen #UNGA
@DemekeHasen "... At the hands of these lords of instability, we went through unimaginably inhumane attacks against citizens, instigation of violence, and destruction of property, that culminated in an attack against the Ethiopian army.”
@DemekeHasen "We were also caught by surprise, and to-be-honest, unprepared for the twisted propaganda campaign. Little did we know the power of privatized politics and foreign policy that clouds the truth from policy decisions." - @DemekeHasen #UNGA
"Mekonnen said region is facing the: 'destructive path paved for it by this group. Supporting Ethiopia overcome this criminal group is helping sustain regional peace. Dialogue has always been our preferred course of action. ..Ethiopia is open to candid initiatives for peace.'"
The reporter here for @VOANews, Gibbs Dube has done an outstanding job of reporting clearly what the Ethiopian Govt. had to say. Bravo.
Finally there is a second @AP report here from @_sallyho "news reporter & investigative correspondent". apnews.com/article/immigr…
"It was a flat-out denial for Ethiopia Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen, who rejected humanitarian concerns over Tigray as part of a “twisted propaganda campaign” in the embattled corner of northern Ethiopia."

Here is the portion of the report on Ethiopia in full:

There was a nice clear view of Ethiopia yesterday morning from @NASA's World view.

A Meskel rainfall forecast follows. ImageImage
This is a 12 day accumulating rainfall forecast. Central Ethiopian areas continue to receive around 10mm of rain a day on average through the forecast period.
The reason for the late season ongoing rains is a late rainy season climate anomaly driven by persistent monsoon conditions in the Indian Ocean, including several low pressure cyclonic storms.

This animation shows the anomaly over a 16 day period from the @NOAA GFS Model.

I really think @JosepBorrellF needs to go. He is a terrible representative for European Union foreign policy. Well past his prime. Maybe Spain can recall him. Or @vonderleyen dismiss him.

When @FedericaMog led @EEAS_EU during the Trump era she held the global order together.
By contrast EU foreign policy is now invisible. @JosepBorrellF is incapable of representing the EU in public fora or on camera and appears to be a control freak.

His decisions on Ethiopia were awful especially countenancing @nimaelbagir @AmbRice46 @PowerUSAID’s kangaroo court.
It is extremely unlikely that Lavrov would be lying about these alleged @JosepBorrellF remarks, and remarkable that he is making them public, as they are sure to become a diplomatic incident.

@vonderleyen would be unwise to ignore their implications.

What is @mkainerugaba up to? He's been on a very odd trajectory for the past week. Visiting Egypt and Somalia and retweeting TPLF UNGA propaganda.

This was just retweeted by @MohamedHRoble, the PM of Somalia who recently had his powers removed by Somalia President @M_Farmaajo.
Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is the son of Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni, and Commander of Uganda Land Forces (UPDF), making him responsible for peacekeeping contingents, including AMISOM in Somalia.
[Image src: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_U… >> Uganda has contributed most troops.]
Five days before @mkainerugaba's strange trip to Egypt and associated twitter activity, his father President Museveni issued a statement "ON THE MILITARY COUPS THAT HAVE RECENTLY TAKEN PLACE IN SOME
AFRICAN COUNTRIES" >> yowerikmuseveni.com/sites/default/…

#UNGA #UNGAEthiopiaCrisis

When will the world’s leaders especially those in the UN US Africa and Europe wake up to the realities of TPLF’s horrific secessionist war in Ethiopia.

The credibility of the UN itself is on the line here.
This horrific massacre took place before the UNGA began. Ethiopian media have been reporting it for a week. Finally a Western media outlet @AP reports on it.

Nairobi’s media cohort have known about this since the first reports emerged on social media and Ethiopian TV.
The credibility of Western bastions of influence >> the US Govt. @StateDept the @EU_Commission @eu_eeas, the UK Govt. @BBCNews, the French Govt. The UN @WFP @UNHCRC & media & ngos @Amnesty @NyTimes @telegraph @washingtonpost @FRANCE24 are all in tatters.

An unexpected pop up storm in the Arabian Sea may develop into a cyclone and head towards the Gulf. over #OMAN, #UAE and #Qatar.
The storm was not in the first GFS run this morning (00hrs UTC) but appeared in the following run at O6 UTC. Behind it there appears to be a second, possibly larger cyclonic system which is currently over the Bay of Bengal.
In this image you can see both storms. The one over the Bay of Bengal, currently designated depression O3B is expected to become a cyclonic storm shortly.
