Thien was w/ his kids Weds PM when a man asks him what kind of flag is on his house (1/4)

This is the flag. It’s a dinosaur. Thien bought it for his 3y/o son.

Thien thought the man was asking ab his “Taga” brand bike. Taga sounds like Tagalog, which is spoken in the Philippines. (Thien is Vietnamese.)

The man then starts calling Thien all kinds of things… (2/4)

“𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘳, 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺?”

“𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘸𝘦𝘪𝘳𝘥𝘰, 𝘱𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘱.”

The man threatens to come back.

Hours later a 2.5lb weight is thrown thru Thien’s car window & landed in-between his kids’ car seats (3/4)#StopAsianHate

PD tell me they don’t think this was hate motivated, Thien thinks it was.
