Its crystal clear that Democratic politicians are as a whole TERRIBLE at communicating / motivating the general public. They think everyone will just buy the free-range beef without asking. The GOP on the other hand repetitively markets the crappy "Trump steaks" at a 100% markup

They can't even properly analyze what went wrong last night. Some of them now think it was a mistake to try & tie Younkin to Trump. Ah no .. the mistake was you only tried in the last month of the campaign (no repetition) ... & even in the last month you were horribly ineffective

Look at the exit polls. Younkin had I think a 55% favorable rating, Mcauliffe was 43-44 and Trump was 41%. And Younkin did everything he could to stiff-arm Trump away from his campaign. They understood it.

Of course Mcauliffe made some unforced errors and of course you need to have a "local" plan to appeal to the constituents. That should be obvious .... even though it seems to be a foreign concept to Dem consultants.

How about the ridiculously dumb assessment that Democrats lost because they didn't tact further to the left. Ah no. India Walton, self-described socialist, lost the Buffalo Mayor's race to a write-in campaign. The previous guy who was a run of the mill Democrat.

How about "Defund the Police" probably the WORST adopted campaign slogan of all time. It failed big time in a referendum in the very very liberal city of Minneapolis. Actually "ABOLISH the POLICE" would be the worst of all time, which they did decide against.

Look the Dems can accomplish alot of good, make inroads into combating climate change, reduce prescription drug costs, they clearly handled a global pandemic better, & a whole slew of other things that improve people's lives. Just communicate better & promote the good u have done

The list is long but think about the topics that have been marketed into the news media, Critical Race Theory (not a thing in high schools), Ivermectin (a completely ineffective Covid-19 treatment), Covid is no worse than the flu and on and on. We need to reverse these trends

Oh wow!! This is certainly a startling exit poll. Not sure how large the sample is and it will be interesting to see if it holds up with other outlets .... but yeah a TERRIBLE job tying Youngkin to Trump.

And here is the sad thing, most Americans agreed that Police reform was desperately needed and progress could have been accomplished ... but the Democrats ceded the messaging war to the GOP when they adopted this insanely bad sloganeering.
