Attorney for the #Jan6th defendant said he’s “have a hard time disputing that {defendant} had committed a crime” & wanted testimony from Trump & others to establish {defendant}’s mind-set that day and to prove that “his client had effectively been duped into breaking the law.”💥
The #Jan6th defendant’s lawyer says he’d not only ask Trump about his Jan 6 speech, but also seek private notes/messages used to draft Trump’s speech & he knew of no legal prohibition against trying to get testimony from a former POTUS as a material witness in a criminal case.😂
