🧵W/ all the horror of ruscist atrocities against Ukrainian POWs, the real issue is not even the thousands of armed #russians in #Ukraine, but millions of chauvinistic russians in russia. Privately, among themselves they feel pride when seeing russians comit war crimes-> 
When russian missile kills Ukrainian children they gloat and glee over death in their chats. They lack empathy and are rather sadistic and this actually is VERY similar to #narcissistic personality disorder - #NPD->
Like other narcissists, PUBLICLY, russian chauvinsits present a different maks to the world, while they gloat over deaths in their chats in russian, publicly they do not admit their crimes, and rather blame their victims for committing those crimes which were perpetrated by 🇷🇺->
As can be seen w/ recent cases - at 1st they make jokes & gloat over mutilation of #Ukraine #POWs, then they cover up more of their atrocities by hitting concentration camp w/ #UkrainianPOWs and blaming #UAF for it. Coldblooded and disgusting #narcissisticabuse on extreme scale->
The reason is actually the inability to process shame. Shame is very unpleasant feeling, yet people must be able to face it. Chauvinists/narcissists on the other hand are not able to handle shame in healthy ways, apparently it causes them a lot more pain and fear->
So w/ that mortal fear of shame they escape it, run away from it, drown with pride over own crimes, when a normal peson would feel horror and shame for murder of a child - russians cannot afford feeling shame so they drown this emotion gloating over successfully destroyed life->
On the other hand, lacking the clear identity (russian identity is imperial one, there is no russia that is not an empire, and digging past the last 300yrs of history they end up in pretty bad and shameful place anyway) they're also hell bent on presenting a mask to the world->
When you see two pictues - how russians communicate among themsleves and how they speak to foreigners, you notice that they've got a need to present themselves as superior to others, again just narcissistic mask->
And the problem for us Ukrainians is the unfortunate russian state creation myth - they claim to come from Kyiv Rus, their own state myth says that "Kyiv is mother of russian cities" (luckily few of them understand that it only means that Kyiv was the metropolis)->
So, the fact that according to the 🇷🇺own state myth they accept 🇷🇺itself is just a province of Kyivan state the existence of independent Ukraine causes russians narcissistic injury and the very shame they try to escape hence the animalistic hatred towards everything Ukrainian->
WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT: well, russians fear shame, but if they to have even a hope for healing they must first *experience* shame, russians must be made to feel shame, it must be shameful to be russian, to be a mass-murderer, to be a war criminal, they must feel pride, only shame->
This happened to Nazis - they were made to feel shame for their crimes as the 1st step. But heh our world ENABLES narcissism, russian chauvinists successfully abuse the very norms and freedoms they despise, what is good for healthy people only enables and thus harms chauvinsits->
So when someone says that russians must be repsected nonetheless and all that "non-conflict" "I-language" - it's great when it's about mature ppl, but in case with chauvinists/narcissists enabling crimes only makes it worse->
Plus at this point a person who would call to care for alleged "russophobia", some imaginary crimes against russians, russian culture would be a monster who works hard to shift the focus from actual atrocities committed by russians.
