NEW: More trouble for members of a #Russia|n procurement network

@TheJusticeDept has indicted Yury Orekhov & 6 others for sending US military tech & millions of barrels of #Venezuela oil to Russia

"The defendants are charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States"
MORE: per @TheJusticeDept, Yury Orekhov was arrested in Germany on October 17

A codefendant, Artem Uss, was arrested the same day in #Italy

Extradition proceedings for Orekhov & Uss are expected

3 others arrested by #Latvia on Oct. 18; a 4th arrested in June by #Estonia
Some of the charges involved the #Russia|n network's attempt to export a high-precision computer-controlled grinding machine - aka a “jig grinder" - which can be used in nuclear proliferation/defense programs, per @TheJusticeDept
According to court documents, the dual use tech cited by @USTreasury - advanced semiconductors & microprocessors - were sent to 2 #Russia|n companies, Telegin & Tulyakov
Both Telegin & Tulyakov service the Russian military & "components obtained through the criminal scheme have been found in Russian weapons platforms seized on the battlefield in Ukraine" per @TheJusticeDept
"The defendants were criminal enablers for oligarchs, orchestrating a complex scheme to unlawfully obtain US military technology & Venezuelan sanctioned oil through a myriad of transactions involving shell companies & cryptocurrency" per US Attorney Breon Peace
