How many of you have seen Putin, his cronies, trolls or useful idiots talking about a multi-polar world where every nation is free to chart its own course free from western domination? Its all hogwash, that is not what he wants. He wants a unipolar world where Russia sits at the
top free to do as it will to anyone, imposing its will, charting their course for them, wiping them out if they resist. There is no part of Russia's foreign policy that says multi-polar via its actions. Putin's only goals have been rebuilding the Russian Empire and making sure he
sat at its head. The true multi-polar world is the one we are witnessing rally to Ukraine. Severla big players like India and China have taking an almost malignant disinterest. Others like Germany and Turkey are trying to play towards the middle to varying degrees. The Votes in
UN show many former colonies taking various approaches. Some have fallen for the lie the Russia is anti-imperialist, while others see in Russia's invasion of Ukraine what their own ancestors faced when a European Empire showed up with guns and a willingness to do #genocide. Then
of course, there are the nations that have rallied to Ukraine. My own country the USA, along with other friends like the UK, Poland, even the tiny Baltic states 190+ nations taking widely divergent views on the war. That about as multi-polar as it gets. Russia has not won a
single vote in the UN. She relies on the fact that the UN as set up cannot override her veto and that the series of losses in the UNGA votes are meaningless because that body has no teeth. Now personally, I'd like to see veto cancel veto and give the non P5 members of the UNSC a
collective veto and let a veto only stand if it wins the vote of vetoes or manages a tie. That however is not the point of my missive. While Putin may want to rebuild the empire and crown himself Czar, things have not gone as planned. His army is wrecked, his navy and air force
are embarrassed. He is reduced to trying to knock out Ukraine's power grid ahead of winter as the only tool left to conduct his #GenocideOfUkrainians. This failure has set up some infighting. First so many generals have been sacked that its likely he does not really have the
support of the officer corps. Whether or not Lapin was fished out of the river the sacking of generals, wrecked of the contractors and murder of conscripts means the stabilizing role of the army in Russian society is probably at low ebb. We know we see 3 figures with private
armies battling it out to be top dog in Putin's ear. Shoigu, Prizorghin and Kadyrov. How long till the snarling turns to teeth and flying fur? Avoid open windows. Mob style violence and government by assassination could be coming. The fact that there are now 3 wannabe poles
vying under Putin's central pole speaks to a much bigger issue coming down the pike. Putin is old and sick and he has no designated successor. Any moment could be his last and then like Stalin's death the empire is thrown into chaos. The Soviets got lucky with Khrushchev.
it could have ended up being Beria for example. Today's Russia does not have a stable of august men to step in. Its why bit players like Kadyrov are even making moves. At some point Putin will die and the lack of successor will usher in a new Russia: for good or for ill unknown.
when that day arrives people like @ford_nik and other professional Russia watcher are going to have their hands full. The best way for us to get from here to there is too play on Putin's biggest weaknesses: his age and health. By fully support Ukraine we keep the stress hormones
