#EVMs #Elections: When does your vote eventually get recorded? Ran a poll & 187 people participated across 2 instances. 55% voted in favor of VVPAT. Remaining 45% for other 3.

Why? Vote get recorded ONLY on CLOSURE of EVM

These machines comes with 1 TIME WRITE CHIP. Once the EVM runs out of either vote capacity or the voting booth has to be closed, the final tally of the Votes that have been cast get recorded ONCE & FINALLY on this Chip and Cant be changed.

So how can EVMs Malfunction? 2 ways

Understand why i used the word malfunction

1) Every EVM comes with a RESET button for testing it machine before its used. RESET button resets the "Test Votes" that are cast during testing exercise on the day the votes are to be cast. You can think of how this can be misused.

(2) There can always exist a Sub-routine within the software that can be triggered using a specific pre-determined pattern of button presses. Think of your mobile when you Dial *#06# to get your IMEI number. Similar such Button presses could be misused.

Then you will say, what about VVPAT. Well how many of you know how what ratio of the VVPAT boxes are counted ? Barely 2 out of every 100 are counted.

if someone gives you 100 bundles of 100 notes of Rs500 each, will you count ONLY 2 random bundles or will you count all ?

I assure you that if you ask anyone of your friends, 99% of them who think the answer is obvious will get it wrong.
