Guys, we go again! No rest on the frontline for the brave warriors defending #Ukraine, so the least I can do is report on it and the least you can do is read and spread the news, ensure there is NO war fatigue.

Welcome to Saturday's news thread, Day 304 of #Russia's illegal war:
So much happened yesterday, including numerous fires in Russia, in Moscow in particular.

Then there was a likely assassination in Melitopol and reported drone attacks on Crimea.

Missed something? No problem... click and scroll yesterday's thread:

Last night @RishiSunak published this festive greeting for the people of #Ukraine.

Impressive! Has the British PM has been using the @JohnLewisRetail creative team?
(for non UK followers John Lewis is renowned for its Xmas ads)

I've spent most of the last 24 hours working on my script for the upcoming short film about Ukraine; how heroics in the war may be hiding some problems in society.

I didn't even touch on the planning law, where a Minister has asked the G-7 to observe

pravda.com.ua/news/2022/12/2…
Also in @pravda_eng a nice feature showing how #Ukraine's defenders have made "surprises" at its northern border with #Belarus.

Many observers believe an invasion is likely, but Ukraine isn't afraid, having vastly improved defences.
The death toll in the horrific fire at a care home in #Kemerovo, has reached 20.
Two others are seriously ill with severe burns.

Stove heating inside the wooden structure is thought to be the reason for the disaster.

#RussiaOnFire

#Germany is cutting cooperation with #Iran

This is NOT linked to the supply of killer drones (and maybe other weapons) to #Russia.

Berlin has taken the action due to "the suppression of protests by the country's authorities."
Fields of Death.
#Bakhmut (RU: #Artemovsk) in #Donetsk region.

Around 15 bodies in one photo alone. The whole area is turned into an open cemetery. It's too dangerous to retrieve bodies.

Terrible losses on both sides, but as the aggressor likely much worse for #Russia
Last night I said I was not convinced a video being circulated was of the reported drone attack on an oil depot in east #Crimea.

Well here's another video, this time CCTV giving an idea of the force of the strike and this is not air defence.

#SlavaUkraini
I know a lot of channels publish scenes from the battlefields, whereas I normally try to stick to the news. But this caught my eye.

One small #Ukraine team in trouble, and managed to be rescued by the skin of their teeth.
A very close call.

📹 Telegram
Already this morning an update from #Ukraine's General Staff.

They confirm two more big hits in #Zaporizhzhia region on Wednesday, destroying 2 artillery systems with ammunition.

More than 70 Russian troops were wounded, number of dead not yet known.
#Russia lost almost 500 more soldiers in the last 24 hours.

8 drones and 4 Multi Launch Rocket Systems also above average.

(figures estimates by #Ukraine)
Amid talk of a possible new attack on #Ukraine from the north, the daily British Intel update casts doubt on whether #Russia has enough ammo and missiles to even defend the frontline, let alone launch an offensive.

#StandWithUkraine
A new atrocity this morning in #Kherson.

At least 5 dead in #Russia's attack on the centre of the city liberated 6 weeks ago.
Another 20 are wounded.

Attacking the city centre in mid morning on a weekend before New Year is just terrorism.
#RussiaIsATerroristState
Just outside #Zaporizhzhia a school/gymnasium has been destroyed.

This is the village of #Stepne a commuter belt location just east of the big city.

It's exactly 10 months ago today that #Russia broke international law and invaded #Ukraine despite repeated promises to international leaders it would not do so.

I want peace, everyone wants peace.
But today's war happens exactly because allies did not confront Putin earlier
2/2

The West did nothing in Georgia in 2008
Did nothing in Crimea and the Donbas in 2014
Even prior to that no action or even a hint at war crimes for Chechnya, then Syria.

"Peace" now will repeat past mistakes, allow Putin to learn lessons, re-arm and come back stronger.
The two people badly injured in the #Kemerovo nursing home fire (see previous tweets), have now died.

It brings the death toll to 22.

The owner of the reportedly unregistered home has already been charged.
#RussiaOnFire
Got to say I'm surprised and a little disappointed they didn't use the "Mein Kampf" trick.

#Russia here claiming a successful operation to detain an "Azov Nazi Terrorist" in #Luhansk.
Looks staged to me, especially the powder puff explosion at the end😅
#Russia's Occupiers also claim to have arrested eight partisans of #Ukraine in #Kherson region.

Meanwhile some locals in Occupied bits of #Zaporizhzhia say they're being told tomorrow there is an all-day curfew in some places. They panic about locations being leaked to #Ukraine.

#Russia has today pumped out masses of new documents and allegations against the USA & big Pharma companies and individuals.

It's the usual hints at biolabs abroad, including #Ukraine. When the UN or someone impartial takes it seriously I'll listen more seriously...
2/2
What is interesting is that #Russia's MoD specifically calls out Democrats.

Obviously Conspiracy Theorists and a large section of the GOP are all over this - just before Republicans take control of the The House and could try to block future funding to Ukraine.
#Kherson

The scale of the devastation is becoming clear in videos being published.

5 dead, 20 injured in the attack on a central market area.

#RussiaIsATerroristState
Nice tale here of Transatlantic help with Christmas spirit!

Guys from @westportctgov are trying to twin with #Lyman. Tomorrow volunteers plan to deliver 400 hot meals to the devastated town still recovering from Occupation.

Interested media pls DM me.

* WARNING * Graphic video

The news gets worse and worse from #Kherson. The region is under widespread rocket attack again now.

The death toll from the city centre shelling rises to 7 with 58 injured, 18 seriously.

#RussiaIsATerroristState
I've just heard an 8th person has died in #Kherson after the attack on civilians in the centre of the city.

Deputy Council leader Yuriy Sobolevsky says the Silpo supermarket was struck: on a Saturday before new year. An atrocious war crime.

Fire spread to the city's main market
The deputy of the party of #Moldova's President says there should be no negotiations with #Transnistria as he hopes (with #NATO + #Ukraine's help) to demilitarise the "breakaway" region, ruled by #Russia.

Maia Sandu's PAS party denies it's their policy

Yet another rocket hits #Kherson

Hours earlier 8 people were murdered by #Russia's attack, over 50 injured.
More Christmas treats from Svyatoslav @s_vakarchuk

You can never have too much of this hero.
#Ukraine's Rock God continues his one man tour of the nation, raising spirits with his and @okeanelzy songs.

Today the #Antonivskyi bridge
Earlier I told how Russia's occupiers telling some residents they wouldn't be allowed to leave their home tomorrow.
Well in #Hornostaivka in #Kherson region, 30km upriver from #Kakhovka, locals are now told they cannot leave their homes until 3 January.

A 9+ day, 24-hour curfew!
The nightmare continued in #Kherson today.

The number killed in the early attack has now increased to 10, with 55 injured. Some report people still under the rubble this evening.

But the shelling continued, including the pointless use of incendiary munitions to start fires.
After the incendiary bombs, parts of #Kherson region were left burning.

Does anyone in Moscow even dispute that #RussiaIsATerroristState?
The horrors of #Kherson

This video is too graphic to upload here. But if you want to see the full pain inflicted by #Russia click the link.

Success for #Ukraine's military today in downing another Ka-52 attack helicopter.

The ruins of the machine are near the village of Sukhanov in the #Kherson region.
In #Poltava earlier today someone defaced a monument to Soviet General Aleksey Zygin.

Yesterday councillors decided not to remove the statue or another of General Nikolai Vatunin

Clearly partisans were not happy with the decision and scrawled ZLO (evil)

Thx @Andrzej_HS
Thank you @Hopeful11212715 for buying me a coffee! 💙💛
Really needed these days!
A guy with almost 300k followers posts fakes. No checking. Promises to take it down if it's fake - doesn't do so.

Pic 1 - FAKE photoshopped claim of SS symbol.
Pic 2 - Original: clear to see number 46 (battalion number)
Pic 3 - Does it look genuine when using @FotoForensics?
Life expectancy isn't that high in #Russia, so the death of a 67yo man is not shocking

So why does my eyebrow raise when I learn of the sudden unexplained death of Aleksandr Buzakov?
He headed "Admiralty Shipyards", which makes submarines which carry Kalibr cruise missiles.
Sarah, Kyle and Krissi all bought me a "ko-fi" - thanks so, so, so much and Merry Christmas to you all.
Hope you don't mind if I actually sip something a little stronger tomorrow!
💙💛
I know it's incredibly cold in #Murmansk in #Russia's frozen north. But they really should stop setting fire to things!

This #RussiaOnFire incident is at the 'Faktor' plant which supplies ships and boats.
In Occupied #Kakhovka, in #Kherson oblast, reports of both incoming and outgoing rockets at the same time.

Very loud right now in the town which sits on the banks of the River Dnipro.
Locals in #Kakhovka and nearby are strongly suggesting #Russia is firing on the town itself.

People are saying there's only two seconds between launch and impact and can only come from Russian positions.

It's Day 1336 of Russia's full invasion, but that only started because the world didn't provide a deterrent almost 12 years ago when Putin first tested the west's response by invading Crimea

The west failed the test. Are we about to fail the biggest exam too?
It's Tim's daily🧵
There was a big drone attack on western Russia last night, with Rostov in particular feeling the heat

There was also plenty of heat again on Russia's largest gas facility, the Georgian 'government' doing Russia's fascist work, and an a tragedy in Kherson
Ukraine was subjected to 6 missiles and almost 100 attack drones overnight.

None of the 2 ballistics, or 4 S-300 missiles was shot down

Of 98 UAVs launched, 3 were still flying.
Of the remaining 95, just 58 were stopped = 61%

Russia's 37 drones and 6 missiles hit 10 locations Image

An explosive start to Day 1334 of Russia's 10-day operation to erase Ukraine from the map.

Not quite #EATP for Putin.
An early start to Sunday's thread as we have news from central and eastern Russia.

All the news, all the time, every damn day. Here we go again!
So much happened yesterday and the fireworks really started in the last couple of hours.

Do yourself a favour and have a quick skim through what you missed from Saturday's news about Ukraine's battle for survival. Incredibly only 14,000 views😳🫣

Two major hits by Ukraine this morning, way, way back, deep into Russia.

Those with me a few minutes ago will already know some of the details but we have a few more sights to show you, starting in Orenburg.

Here, locals say a gas plant has been hit by drones. Image

Hello on Thursday morning, 16 October 2025.

Russia is now going all out to make life unliveable for Ukraine's citizens, destroying all energy and heat infrastructure it can.

While Ukraine hits energy targets too, it's almost all to hit Russia's exports/finances.

Here's the🧵
Day 1331 is well underway: I hope we can penetrate the algorithm and get people to actually see today's🧵

Yesterday, views for the 1st page is at 16k, about half what it should be. Please quote tweet or repost various posts during the day

Catch up here:
Last night I wrote of a possible hit on another refinery.

In the last couple of minutes, Ukraine has confirmed the strike in Saratov, which they say directly supports Russia's army.

It's refining capacity is almost 5m tons.

Every Single Day.
Ukraine's brave men and women on (or supporting) the frontline cannot switch off, so neither shall I in documenting the major events of Russia's horrific war.

As we begin a new week, it's the 1,321st Daily Thread - never missed one yet. So let's dive-in..
Well it's been lively overnight in Russia, with many reports of Ukraine's drones causing problems.

You can see photos and video from those reports at the end of yesterday's thread, which began with more daytime strikes by Moscow's war criminals...

I'll start with the numbers as Ukraine launched more than twice as many drones as Russia overnight according to official defence figures.

Moscow says it downed 251 UAVs, while Kyiv reports 116 long range drones fired by Russia, of which 83 were stopped (72% success)> Image

Tuesday 30 September 2025 - it's Day 1315 of Russia's full invasion. That's 3 years, 7 months and one week of Ukraine trying to defend itself against an infinitely bigger army.

But Ukrainians have a just cause and the sum is much bigger than the parts.

Here's the daily thread:
A shorter thread yesterday, with not a lot of ground-breaking news. But still more than 30 posts, you may like to catch up on, such as Russia's moaning about its election interference in Moldova coming to nothing!

Yesterday I showed the remarkable downing of a Russian military helicopter by an FPV drone - the price disparity is also incredible.

That hit is included in today's table of Russia's losses during the war, but elsewhere numbers are a little lower. Image

Hello again everybody. Are we ready for Day 1311 of Ukraine's defence against the all-out invasion by a Kremlin horde? I know I am, so let's go.

Documenting all the important news, and Russian war crimes, every single day - still never missed one - this is THE daily thread:
You can almost smell the weekend approaching, but first let's look back at Thursday.

Another wide variety of stories, and what a contrast. Almost record numbers of likes on BSky yet way below par number of views here on X.
Review what you missed here:

Today let's start with some damage in Russia.

Ukraine's drones were probing various places during the night and found another way through to the Afipsky oil refinery.

The Krasnodar region continues to be a good hunting ground in recent days.
