Premier Danielle Smith limits reporters to ONE QUESTION. No follow-up.
She says "because it's an election" she won't take more than 1q per reporter to get to more reporters... but she answered fewer q's from fewer reporters. #abpoli#ableg#Alberta
The NDP is calling for a reversal of this new policy imposed by the Premier, and an apology.
They say she is dodging questions to avoid accountability.
@MLAIrfanSabir calls Smith's actions disgraceful and dangerous to democracy.
BREAKING: Hours after Premier Kenney, HM Copping & CMOH Hinshaw requested Albertans limit Holiday gatherings, the UCP held a Christmas party w/ over 200ppl at the Parlour Italian Kitchen & Bar in #Edmonton. Copping & Kenney were NOT In attendance. (1/4) #abpoli#ableg#COVID19AB
According to my sources Minister Kaycee Madu & Assc Minister Dale Nally were at the party w/ around 200 other UCP members. Restaurant staff confirm the entire venue was bought out. I'm told that COVID-19 protocols & restrictions weren't broken. (2/4) #abpoli#ableg#COVID19AB
It was held right after Kenney told people to "reduce number of daily in person contacts by half over the coming weeks." Copping: "We have to stop super spreader events," and asked ppl to "take a close look at their plans and consider how they can reduce their interactions."(3/4)
Speaking to docs, nurses & health experts, #Alberta's CMOH Deena Hinshaw admits she lulled the province into a false sense of security, saying she shouldn't have claimed COVID was over in July... Apologizing. #COVID19AB#yyc#yeg#abpoli#ableg Full vid:
"I feel very responsible for the narrative that has made it more complicated to put additional health measures in place," Hinshaw says. "Whether or not it was my intention, what was heard at the end of July was COVID is over, we can walk away and ignore it." #COVID19AB#yyc#yeg
"That has had repercussions and I deeply regret how that has played out," she adds. "Obviously Alberta is in a significant crisis state right now, there's no dancing around that but I think it's very important to remember, Delta caught a bunch of us unaware." #COVID19AB#yyc#yeg
As a reporter, I never share my opinion especially online, but CPS dispatch is an absolute joke. Walking the dog & drunk guy approached me, screaming, threatening me. He was drunk, upset over my race & that I didn't offer my cigar. Called 911, no unit ever came. 1/5 #Calgary#yyc
Speaking to dispatch for 15min while it happened and no units enroute. 3 inactive police units (no cherries on) drove by me during & after the incident, nobody stopped. It's been 51min after the incident started & still no units showed up. #yyc#Calgary 2/5.
The guy was abusive to me, other people in the park, getting in my face, threatening to beat me up, and pushed his wife who tried to atop him several times. CPS didn't take the request seriously and told me it wasn't a priority. 3/5.
⚽️🥇 Last time Canada took on Sweden they lost 1-nil, but Canadians heading out to pubs this morning hope that won't be the case this time around. A lot of people waking up early to watch this gold medal football match. #Tokyo2020#canadasoccer#Sweden vs #Canada
The mood among the 75 fans and some Olympians at this pub going from happy and excited to sour after Sweden scores its first goal. Canada nil - 1 Sweden. They're still hopeful Canada will win.
Team Canada scored. It's tied 1-1. People here are happy to say the least. Mood went from sour back to hopeful and determined. Fans here say Canada is going to win.

A picture showing an #Alberta#energy sector company's logo & depicting 17yo climate activist @GretaThunberg in a sexual act is causing an uproar. X-Site Energy Services, whose logo is on the decal, says it is not involved at all, denying it made the decal. #yyc#abpoli@660NEWS
"It's not from X-Site or any (of its) employees," says Doug Sparrow, company GM. He adds, "it's just not right and they're calling me a rapist and all this stuff, it's all defamation of character coming out. It's not me." Restating neither X-Site nor its employees made the decal.
Michelle Narang disputes Sparrow's statement that he did not authorize or know about the decals. She alleges she phoned Sparrow to talk about the decals yesterday, and claims that he knew about them and that the company was involved with distributing them #yyc#energy@660NEWS
