I honestly don't get why so many people will spend days in a rage because of say Ayanda Mabulu, but are silent about our political crisis
Is it because people think there is somebody who will step in and save us or belief that we are generally powerless denial or acceptance?
South Africa is in a very dark dangerous place, the center cannot hold and we desperately need some sort of new political force
I spend a lot of time in Brazil who is a crisis that as terrible as ours, but at least nobody is in denial about it, South Africa is surreal
there is no leader, no messiah, no bunch of elders, no moral appeal to the values of the struggle or Mandela that will save us
often foreign comrades after visiting SA comment to me about how deep-rooted our obsession with leadership is, no programs just leaders
There is no clear programatic or ideological political division in South Africa right now this is both generative of and generates passivity
there is no WMC vs Radical Economic Transformation divide, WMC, Gangsters (including ubaba) and the Guptas are all looting SA together
