I think the risk of a war between Israel & Hezbollah, played out on the streets of Lebanon, is greater now than it has been for many years
Israel & Saudi interests are almost entirely aligned. Saudi has a young prince who wants to show he’s a tough guy & in charge.
The Israeli PM is mired in corruption allegations & needs to show he has some worth. Both Israel & Saudi want to weaken Hezbollah & Iran.
Both Israel & Saudi know that in Donald Trump they have the most pliable, disinterested US President on foreign affairs in modern history.
I also think from this alignment will come a serious push for Israel/Palestinians deal because Saudi Prince will want to own the process
Ultimately though I think we’ll see over reach from the Saudi prince & that worries me that a new conflict may not be confined to Lebanon.
The Saudi Prince basically sacked the Prime Minister of another country, Lebanon & did a virtual-coup at home & the US President praised him
