[phasing through your walls in t-pose] the fighting game community is an excellent example on how multiple, visible, consistent representation of people like yourself in a community makes people of that group more willing to participate in that community
[spinning while holding that t-pose] this also demonstrates itself on the flipside - anywhere in the FGC where various groups do not feel safe to show/express themselves very visibly creates a ripple effect that makes it harder for others of that to group to jump in
[expanding to enormous size, still in t-pose] this should not be twisted into an ideology of "we have to let the asshole bigots in!" due to the "paradox of tolerance" - or, tolerating bigots literally goes right back to making those people who were unsafe, become unsafe again
