Alrighty...let's talk elections in AL...specifically on fairly notable one...AL Governor 2002 - Siegleman/Riley...
mobile.nytimes.com/2002/11/08/us/…
Close results...
Some irregularities reported...Magnolia Springs...
As a quick aside...Magnolia Springs was in the news recently as well...

Let's look further at Baldwin County, AL on election night...a scholarly review...
fs.huntingdon.edu/jlewis/syl/ame…
Scholarly review will demonstrate a relatively simple statistical techniques can identify apparent systematic electronic manipulation of voting results...
Some background and suspicious indications...how did a computer tabulate 2 different results?
Baldwin County appears to be an outlier...
Some graphs...The first plot shows the relationship for the initial returns and the second shows the results for the second set of Baldwin county returns.
👆These results suggest the changes made between releasing the 1st & 2nd set of results made Baldwin Co. an outlier. This is exactly the opposite of what you would expect if the changes corrected an error in the data. This kind of statistical irregularity deepens one’s suspicions
More analysis...It is worth noting that home county advantage is only about a third as large as the second count gave Riley in Baldwin County. Thus, the analysis of the republican side of the election also increases the suspicion that Baldwin County results are manipulated.
An analysis of Voting District Data..If the first reported results were accurate for Siegelman but inflated for Riley, you would expect the slope for Baldwin County to be about a third lower than the slope for the other voting districts. The results are shown below:
Possible methods of manipulation...Remember those 2 sets of results..This part describes how the system operates and how 4 possibilities for manipulation that could have caused the different results...
👆Note the 4th approach👇
Conclusion...some relatively simple statistical analysis techniques can be used to identify probable electronic manipulation of voting results. Baldwin Co results attracted attention bc 2 results were reported... probably due to mistakes made in the data manipulation procedures.
So...Baldwin County...how could tallies be manipulated and by whom? ...
This report indicates at least 3 sets of results tabulated that night...1st seemed improbable...some election officials fiddled with their computers...and, another result...Siegelman 19,000 votes, not enough to win the county, but enough to give a 3,100-vote margin of victory...
And...here comes that sense you've been here before...another set of results...swings election to Riley...
Shenanigans called...Campaigns descend...
Quick note...if the name Adrian Johns sounds familiar...he was mentioned in the NYT piece earlier in thread...
Accusations and explanations abound...computer glitch...thunderstorms may have impacted optical scanning equipment..."funny math" called...
And, as most things go...there are several sides to the story...calls from both for other to concede...
Sticking with that odd feeling of deja vu for a bit longer...Republican AG - Bill Pryor - said sealed ballots can't be opened just because the governor trails his GOP challenger
articles.latimes.com/2002/nov/09/na…
If that AG name sounds familiar...well.... William Pryor was the beneficiary of some political appointments...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_H….
Pryor nominated to 11th Circuit in 2003...installed as a recess appointment during a contentious confirmation process...McCain announced an agreement for an 'up/down' vote...
Little bit more about Pryor (fmr. AG of AL who ruled against recount in 2002 Governor election)...curious his name is popping up again given Moore is in the AL Senate election today...
May not surprising that Pryor has been labeled 'polarizing'...you may recognize the name from other notoriety...civil rights and discrimination🤔
washingtonpost.com/national/pryor…
So, rolling back to 2002 after Pryor ruled no recount...Riley was installed as AL Governor in 2002...what else is notable following? ...
Well...Riley was a man on a mission...and, apparently well funded...
legacy.decaturdaily.com/decaturdaily/n…
👋 Abramoff...👋McCain...
🤔McCain...head of The Senate Indian Affairs Committee👆...also negotiated the up/down vote on Bush's recess appointment for 11th Circuit Pryor....Pryor who was AG who ruled against recount in 2002 Election of Riley/Siegleman???🤔
Alleged $13 million flowing through during 2002 Governor election...surfacing in 2006 with call for Riley opponent (Lucy Baxley) to clear up the issue...oh hey...Abramoff associate Scanlon was Riley's press secretary in 1997 when Riley in Congress...🤔
So...why would Abramoff lobby against Siegelman? Siegleman campaign centered on instituting a statewide education lottery...Note: finance records don't hit that $13 million...
So...things get kinda intermingled...gonna dig a bit further into more Riley connections to Abramoff...there is also some overlap between folks mentioned in the election and the indictment of Siegleman...will come back to the Siegleman case in a bit...
But, for now let's delve further into the alleged Abramoff $$ to Riley...are there other connections?
Mentioned Scanlon link to Riley earlier...
Here's another...Dan Gans...👀Riley's Chief of Staff in Congress & Gov of AL...left Riley to join Alexander Group...and, 👀what's that about computers and elections??
Let's look at Dan Gans in more detail...from his bio...Note the volunteer capacity🤔...designed a state-of-the-art interactive website for Congress...and, Riley's 2002 campaign website...
polariswdc.com/biographies.ht…
Prior to working with Riley, Gans was Legislative Director for Rep Bill Martini (R-NJ)...
Link to some info on the HUD issue👆not going to delve further into this topic for this thread...
heritage.org/civil-society/…
Gans began career in DC as an intern for Rep Alex McMillan (R-NC)...former Army Intel...who sounds kinda like a Corker/Flake from Iran Contra days...
bioguide.congress.gov/scripts/biodis…
Also, Gans worked with Rep Gary Franks (R-CT)...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Fran…
Rolling back to connections (link: harpers.org/blog/2007/06/a…)...Twinkle Andress...fmr Deputy Chief of Staff for Riley...fmr. Exec Dir for AL GOP...Capitol Resources ==> link to Haley Barbour (MS) ==> Abramoff $$ source for AL Governor 2002...
Also...Twinkle is running for Lt. Governor for AL...

Next up...Dax Swatek...connects to Riley...Bill Canary/Pat McWhorter...Ralph Reed...
