1/ In the midst of something close to 2000 emails along the lines of "Suck it, looser" and "I'm going to kill you" there have been a few heartfelt messages expressing hurt over my "ten tooth" line.

Allow me to make a few observations about this current moment.
2/ Obviously, not all Trump supporters are ten-toothed rubes, but I'd bet you a hundred quatloos research would prove all ten-toothed rubes are Trump supporters.

But that's not really the point, is it? The point is that Trump's base proudly endorses the most lavish cruelty.
3/ They adopt this language and attitude of unearned swagger and strength, of "fuck your feelings" and imitation of Trump's own cruelty, vulgarity, unjustified chest-thumping.

Trumpism isn't, for the 1000th time, conservatism. It's a parasitic infection feeding on hatred.

Day 3 of #ScaryMovieMonth If you were a fan of It Follows, then check out Lace Crater. Don't watch the trailer, it gives the whole movie away. There's light visual horror, but that isn't what will make you cringe—it's the intimacy of watching it all go down. It's so absurd.
Day 4 of #ScaryMovieMonth is a twofer. The Aussie movie Wolf Creek came out in 2005 (rent on Amazon for 3.99) & it is BRUTAL. It could very well make you puke from fright & then those weird scary bastards went & made a whole terrifying series out of it (also called Wolf Creek).
Day 5 of #ScaryMovieMonth my recommendation is Unsane with Claire Foy. Being gaslighted into thinking you're crazy, being in a place where women are only believed when the truth is profitable & a man obsesses over controlling you—it is on the nose horror for today.
