61% of Venezuelans are now living in extreme poverty, 87% are now classed as poor. “Do you consider your family’s income enough to buy food to consume inside and outside the home?” 89.4% say “No.” Almost two out of every three poor Venezuelans are recently impoverished.

Venezuelans have stopped consuming protein and instead are mainly consuming carbs, such as tubers, pasta and rice.

64% of Venezuelans are still losing bodyweight. (And note the 7% who ARE getting fatter.) Those people who are losing weight are losing more weight: 11.4 kg., vs. 8.9 kg. the year before.

Health inequalities persist: Venezuelan women in the poorest quintile are less than half as likely to get a prenatal check in the first two months than women in the best off quintile.

87.5% of Venezuelan households now receive (if/when it arrives) the CLAPs subsidized food handouts:

Says @CaracasChron: "A country where almost nobody can afford to buy enough food at market prices and almost everybody depends on politicized food distribution is a country of slaves."

The survey suggests that around 815,000 Venezuelans have emigrated, vast bulk in 2016/2017.

adds: "Venezuela isn't even growing more equal as it grows poorer: class gradients continue to show up in access to education, to health care, to everything really."

Note, the Venezuelan government also collects these sorts of figures - but they refuse to publish them and have been refusing for some time now.
