1) This... is a question that is dangerous and depressing to answer. Dangerous because I might partially dox myself, depressing because the answer is... well... depressing.
2) Our politicians are typically dumb as fucking rocks, or simply are unable to figure out how to get access to the information they want yet have access to, even via a simple google search.
3) So let's say hypothetically on another social network consisting of a series of subforums there exists a large yet marginalized group of Trump supporters.
4) And let's say this marginalized group of Trump supporters, as hyperbolic and annoyingly knee-jerk reactive as they are, are a collective repository of basically all knowledge, screenshots, archived links, etc of the various Democrat scandals.
5) Ask, and you'll get FLOODED with information. So, lets say a certain congressman on a certain committee had a staffer who knew of this group of Trumpite cave people, and was given a task; pull together every obama-era scandal and election scandal from 2016 you can into a list
6) And let's say, the staffer goes to this group, and asks for a list, because he and his congressman he was working for simply HAD NO IDEA.
7) And it allllllll rolled out. timelines and everything. PM'ed with supporting links and documents. Comey's misdeeds. Uranium One. The various branching parts of THAT. The Clinton email scandal's various octopus-like tentacles that the MSM didn't even take a sideways glance at
8) The various blatant lies that were exposed by the DNC and Podesta emails (we left out pizzagate. No one wanted to deal with that bullshit again). All of it gathered up into a list. And then this staffer was asked, "What, did you not know ANY of this?"
9) And they didn't. Congress, who we're screaming at to do this, its too much information. A representative or senator and their staffers don't have the time or intelligence to puzzle this all out, much less keep up with everything. Maybe they're too busy with shutdowns?
10) Maybe saying they're dumb as rocks is a bit of hyperbole. The Democrat ones definitely are. The longer the career has involved elected offices the more likely it is they're dumb as rocks. But there's a hypothesis I have
11) The hypothesis is, as a system grows exceedingly complex, the likelihood of an individual being capable of fully understanding that system approaches zero. Originally I was developing this hypothesis for economics to explain why people are so inept at grasping economics.
12) But given the increasing mix of rules, regulations, mass social behavior, economics, and the thousand other minutia that make up politics right now, and I've come to realize, perhaps we've reached a point where an individual can no longer fully function as a representative.
13) A president, when surrounded by specialized individuals and a full cabinet with support staff, can manage well enough, assuming the goal is to manage the executive branch effectively and not play Public Relations Monopoly all day like Obama did.
14) But, an individual senator or representative? They don't even really know what they're voting on half the time. The process of a bill reaching the floor is known as the 'Immaculate Conception', because oftentimes our politicians have NO IDEA where the fuck they came from.
15) They have some staff, yes, but even they get overwhelmed by the demands of the office, and that's if there's not email or phone campaigns flooding their offices. The role of an individual representative to be informed of the issues they're voting on may have grown too large.
16) So, @JMuser16 asks, how do they not know there is a second special prosecutor? Because they're too overwhelmed to figure that out. Because there is literally so much white noise in the mainstream media that they missed that information and no one told them.
17) Maybe the ones that do know are grandstanding for camera time. Maybe its all kabuki theater. I don't know for sure. Shit's weird and has grown too large and complex for one person to fully incorporate all of it.
