We undertook a nationwide poll to test voter attitudes toward national security, and found that dissatisfaction with Trump has given Democrats the political advantage on key national security issues.

A lot of folks keep telling me that trans identity isn't "scientific" and yet when I ask them what they mean by science, they keep talking about biology. As if the (simplified) biology they learned in grade school is the only kind of science that exists. Ever.
There have already been a lot of really excellent pieces written about the variability of biological sex/sex characteristics, the neuroscience behind gender, and the like. So I won't dwell there. But there's something else I need to point out: Social science is a thing.

2/ So, three key questions: what will the content of the declaration be; what will its legal weight be; and will it be ready in time for the #EUCO on Thursday?
3/ So far sources are reticent about whether a General Affairs Council, which is meeting tomorrow in Brussels anyway, will have a last minute Article 50 formation - but one source says it can be arranged at the last minute (GACs do the work of preparing summits).

Gina Haspel ran a series of clandestine torture palaces at a time there was an international consensus that torture violated both the laws of man and the laws of nature. No person with a moral compass—in 2001 or now—could or would condone torture, let alone oversee its execution.
To have condoned, overseen, and covered up systemic torture this century is to have announced internationally that one has not, cannot and will not distinguish means and ends. It's a moral disqualifier for high office—let alone running the world's largest clandestine institution.
There's nothing confusing, eldritch, or opaque about the Haspel vote: to vote for her is to—15 years on from one of the darkest episodes in American history—stamp the sort of moral compass that would allow such behaviors to continue in other forms with a Congressional imprimatur.

Gina, born in Ashland, KY, was oldest of 5 children. Her father served in @usairforce & after growing up overseas, she went to @universityofky, studying language & majoring in journalism. She moved to Louisville her senior year for an internship & graduated from @uofl w honors.
Her parents instilled a deep love of country & a commitment to public service. In high school, Gina came home & told her dad she wanted to attend @WestPoint_USMA. Her dad had to tell her they didn’t admit women at the time.

The pull of service & adventure, however, stayed w her.
