might not be 'the only game in town' and 'ED might not have your vote' but it's not a secret that real battle of the ballot is between these two men and their respective political parties.
My 2 cents tell me that ED and @nelsonchamisa might both be having 40% each of the voters in their pocket and the real battle is to sway the thinking of more than half of the remaining 20% of the voters who either are still undecided or waiting for a signal of who to vote for
The 80% are the die hard and dogmatic supporters and sympathisers who will vote for their political leaders nomatter what. Nothing will change their minds. So I am not going to waste my time talking to them.
It is the 20% that I am concerned about. This 20% is made up of people who will listen to the conversation and stop, think and ask, "But is this right?". This is the group that @nelsonchamisa must try and pay attention to for they are the people that will determine his fate.
It is very naive to believe that it is up to Zimbos only to determine their future for it is not only their interests that is at stake here. Remember the International Community like the UK, EU, US, Chinese and SADC just to mention a few.
This group is asking the questions that the 20% is asking but which the 80% don't bother to ask. Of cause some like the UK and Chinese seem to have made their minds, not a secret at all. We have seen some ambassadors globe trotting like they are part of either a Zim party or gvt
All groups, have expectations. Zimbabweans want industries and mines open so they can have jobs once again. Both @nelsonchamisa & ED are promising this. Zimbos want an end to short shortages and liquidity crunch, ED has promised to fix it in his 100 days in office
has said just vote me in and in 2 weeks there will be money in the banks. It is important to note that ED's 100 days have well elapsed ... has a signal been send?
The International community demands a return to rule of law and respect of property rights. Of cause some seem to have ignored this part as evidenced by their tacit conduct
ED promised to open Zimbabwe for business albeit without explaining who has shut it in the first place. @nelsonchamisa has promised same and even confirmed that most administrations are willing to inject billions as soon as they are voted into power.
In other words, both candidates are speaking the same language that the International Community and the uncaptured 20% want to hear.
But there are two questions that I feel are not being addressed thoroughly by the two gentlemen to capture that hanging 20%.
people have heard your promises. Thank you for reviving their dreams that they can have bullet trains in their life times and also transport their tomatoes by plane from Mtoko to Harare.
they also appreciate that you will ease the cash crises in 2 weeks. BUT Mr President your question is: HOW DO YOU PLAN TO DO THIS? Or is it too early to be asking such a question at this moment in time? I will say maybe your manifesto will answer this ...
To ED, the question is not on the how but on the when and why now? Mr President, you have been in power for 37 years; what exactly are you going to do different that you failed to do for the past decades?
Your 100 days in office were far from convincing. The cash crisis is still an everyday thing and there is no end in sight as far as we are concerned.
MR PRESIDENT, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO REALISE THAT YOU ARE THE HEAD OF A RULING PARTY AND NOT AN OPPOSITION? WHEN WILL YOU REALISE HOW RIDICULOUS IT IS TO KEEP ON PROMISING PEOPLE THINGS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GIVING AS A GOVERNMENT.
What we want from you are the reasons why you did not give us the 2 million jobs you promised us in 2013. What makes you think we must trust you to give us millions of houses if we voted for you?
Has ED given us a signal to help that 20% that is hanging?

Anyway, you still have your assumed 40%
